Oxy powder type stain removers contain oxygen bleach which kills mould and removes the colour of the stains. I've had good results with it so far. You don't need the branded stuff, supermarket own is basically the same stuff.0

Willl it be okay on coloured clothes and not beach them?Save, save, save, save.0 -
after washing them several times - as described in many of the posts above, set your wah on a rinse only cycle, fill ther fab con compartment with clear vinegar and about half a dozen drops of tea tree essential oil.
the tea tree will kill the mould spores.
Just make sure no one who will be using the clothes /bedding is allergic to tea tree beforehand!
Good luck0 -

Hi,
The little search box where I can search for an answer has disappeared, so I`m asking here lol.
I found mould on a load of clothes this morning. It was due to a wet flannel being put in the basket. There were adult and baby clothes. The mould was grey and looked like the furry dust off of a stereo etc if you hadn`t cleaned it for a while. The clothes had been there for about 4 days. It easily rubbed off the clothes.
I put them into the washing machine, on a long eco wash at 60 degrees with powder and conditioner - the next highest temperature on it is 90 degrees - and the mould has gone.
In the interest of getting them to a high temperature to kill off spores I am now going to put them in the tumble drier.
Is this going to work? Have I done enough to kill the mould and spores? Should I just throw the clothes away `just in case`? Should I wash them again but at 90 degrees - bearing in mind there are lots of coloured colthes as they are a baby`s? Should I do a wash with bleach (and how do I do that please)?
Hope someone can help.
Thank you.

IT`S OK - THANKS,
Managed to look on my phone and I had the search bar on there lol.
Found lots of answers from previous threads.
I think I`m going to bin the clothes as most suggestions were to bleach them.
Sod it.....but lesson learned.

If the visible mould has gone, then washing again with bleach in the washing machine instead of powder/liquid and an extra rinse should be enough to kill off any more spores? I use bleach when I wash the tea towels from the Scout Hut and the colours don't come out of them, though I'm sure they would if I frequently soaked them in bleach.0

Hi there,
I have just bought a second-hand tent and the inner sleeping pod has a patch of mould. I was just wondering what I could use to remove it that wouldn't make the material fade?
I've read about the lemon and salt solution and leaving it out in the sun and would like to know if anyone has had any success with that method?
Many thanks0 -
Not sure. Never had mould. I just know you have to be very careful on the outer tent as using anything on it can stop the waterproofing work.
If no-one gets back to you try looking on the camping forum. They are very slow at replying, especially at this time of year, ( all out camping). But you can look through old threads, where you may find the answer.0
