It would have been Building regs, planning or the fire officer who deemed that the space could not be used as parking. You will look a bit of afool with the management company but you can demand that the space isn't used as a parking space under the relevant health and safety rules.
the fact that they gave you permission to use the space is irrelevant it wasn't yours or their decision to make.
If they refuse not sure who you should take this up with but would suspect the planning office as a good place to start.
Have alook on your local councils website there is probably an on line planning search you should be able to look at the original aplication and any comments made by fire officers etc.0 -

Thanks for all your advice so far.
I called the Managing Director of the company that owns the Freehold and explained the situation, and also explained that the apartment wasnt sold with a parking space due to the health & safety reasons, he pleaded ignorance and explained that he needed to be commercial about the parking space!!! why then has it taken me to prompt the commercial aspect of the space, almost two years since I moved in! I also asked why the parking number had been sand blasted off and a bollard put in place. He said that the company had remained in ownership of the space. Again this baffled me as the apartment was advertised with a space, then it was removed.
I have a meeting with the director at the end of April, so it will be interesting to see what they say.0 -
In the mean time speak to the local planning department, so you can hopefully go to the meeting armed with the planning restrictions.0

No two ways about it.. you are in the wrong, they should NOT have let out the parking space, as it hinders access for emergency vehicles, your willingness to move your car is irrelevant. You are endangering the live s of others and seem happy to do so, simply to gratify your own selfish needs. Parking space when you want it to be , and left free when you no longer need it? Sorry the last post made me chuckle, "you are in the wrong, they should NOT..."
They are in the wrong, the management company should have said no to you in the first place, it's was their choice not to. Now again they should have said no to the person they are renting it to.
I agree with the others who say check with the planning permission that was granted to see if the space is a legitimate space!

sounds like that no car should be able to park in that space, hence why the OP received the place at a discount. It seems to me that the management company are just making some money on the side and have no legal right to rent out the space as a parking bay. I'd contact the council and see what they have to say.

That post sounds sooo funny. But putting the humor aside, the lady would be (I understand) the only person at risk of fire etc with her vehicle in the space, so it was up to her to take the risk. The real culprit is the management company who allowed this. And now the situation is that the management company are endangering the life of the lady without her permission. which is even worse.

They probably ought not to have leased the parking space to you.
But that doesn't mean that you can't now complain when they lease it to someone else. Sounds to me like you have a legitimate complaint (it would be different, of course, if you waited a few months, and then tried to get it back. Irrelevant to who's right or wrong or what should or should not have been agreed the above point alone will mean non compliance with planning and building regulations.
Playing the Disabled card is an underhand one sometimes, but (forgive the pun) they won't have a leg to stand on if they are denying disabled access by leasing the space for parking,
Add the Emergency services card to this and as I see it they'll be hard pushed to justify the space.
None of this of course has anything to do with what's morally right and what will have been agreed previously when it suited you to park there.0
