Nope, not overly hot, about the same as the Canaries, but inland in Marrakesh can get intense at midday this time of the year. I went in May and on the coast the weather was quite changeable.

No visa required, just fill in a tourist card that the cabin crew will give you on the plane.

I agree with the OP, it's a great place to go. I did Agadir, Marrakesh and Casablanca in 5 days and had a great time.

Am going to Marrakesh for 4 days and then we have ten days to do whatever we like in Morrocco...

Can anyone recommend excellent accommodation in Marrakesh? Think I'd like to stay in one of the 'Dar' type places than a hotel

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go? Trying to avoid 'family type' resorts. What activities are recommended there?

    Thanks

I usually stay at the Hotel Kenzi Farah, very nice but from what you have said not what you are looking for at all.

I would avoid Riad Tizwa, I stayed for one night and then walked out. All looks very lovely, but the staff were all too far up their own (insert word as appropriate) for my liking!

You will get lots of recommendations on Trip Advisor.

For your first day I would take the hop on hop off bus tour. A nice easy way to get to know the city. Ignore the taxi drivers that tell you that it doesn't run on a Fri/ Sat/ Sun ... it does!

The Rough Guide Directions guide book is excellent.

    Enjoy! x

Do you know of a cheap hotel but nice, near Casablanca airport? I'll be going in October
