Bought ??fake item on ebay

Mrs BC has had her eye on a links of london sweetie bracelet for a while. Her birthday is coming up and I have bought her 1 off ebay.
It arrived this morning - came with packaging etc but I think it's a fake. It came in a square box but some of the listings show circular boxes. Apparently they should be hallmarked on the link nearest the thick link saying links london. This one has no hallmark. It also seems to have spaces between the links when I put it on my wrist. Has anyone got a real one to verify details so I know if it's fake or not?
I will probably take it to a jeweller to find out if it's fake but what do I do now? If I contact the seller and offer to send it back will she refund me?

Take it to a jewelers. If it's fake, then depending on how you paid, it can be quite easy to get a refund, even if the seller doesn't want to give you one. If you paid via PayPal, simply log into PayPal and open a dispute with Fake Goods as the problem. If you payed via another method, send the seller an email.0

I paid via paypal so that part should be ok. I take it I need to send it back to the seller at my cost.0

Ebay are seriosuly trying to clamp down on this sort of behaviour so if you paid via Paypal I would bet a considerable amount you'd win a dispute.0

Once you have filed the complaint, it can go two ways. The first is paypal will say send it back to the seller and provide proof (so recorded delivery) or they will simply give you your money back and deduct the sellers account.
The second method you can turn around to the seller and say pay for postage if you want it back. The first way you are liable for postage.0 -
So I need to prove it's fake by taking it to a jewellers?0

I bought some uggs from ebay. When they arrived they were really bad fakes. I emailed the seller and asked what they were going to do about it. They sent me a really shirty response. I replied, saying that in the circumstances I had been pretty reasonable and as they obviously weren't I would just report it to ebay. They responded saying that they had used a one off supplier who had ripped them off, apologised for the shirty email, told me that they had refunded the full amount to my paypal account including shipping, and that I could keep the boots as a gesture of goodwill. Contact the seller. If they are selling loads on ebay and you say you'll report the bracelet as a fake, if it is they won't want you to do this. If they know its genuine they won't be bothered. Also ebay will probably require you to produce proof that its fake before they make a decision if the seller contests it.0

A genuine Links of London sweetie comes with a plastic security tag on it, this is something that they must have on if new as LOL will not take a return in unless its still attached.
I got mine as a present when I gave birth and I know it is genuine. It was tight at first and has stretched and still no gaps between the links. It does have the hallmark on the link next to big one, my box is oval and has the little suede pouch.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.0 -
