I'm pretty sure that they have to be free from defects for 12 months.

I think after 90 days you have to pay for the shipping though. If you're going to buy it would be worth ringing them and asking though and certainly if you haven't ordered from dell before, like you say, ask for a discount, they might give you 5%.

    That will do for me!!!!!!!

Thanks for the post, I've just ordered mine. Oh and just a quick note, on the final order confirmation it describes the PC as having 512Mb of RAM?? So we shall wait and see about that one, it is on the receipt though!!!

    Thanks again,

Mine too it said 512Mb, I was going to order from Crucial for an upgrade, but will hold fire until it arrives.

I was quoted 7-10 days, seems a long time?

Also the web site had offer with FREE delivery for desktop and laptop but clicking the link just showed desktops :(

As people have said DELL are playing with specs and prices.

I suppose it is to manage inventory before for new term, and to get ready for XMAS...

Curries had a nice Toshiba with nearly the same spec, but at £100 more than this Dell. I like Toshiba but the Dell at this price (+2.5% Greasy Palm on cost of unit ex VAT: £200+ 2% cashback on the credit card) seems a great deal.

Thanks to the OP and all the posts on this thread.

Off to find a cheap laptop case.... Saw something about Tescos...

Trademark, i had already pm'd you , can i suggest you take time off slagging other peoples posts and phoning dell for discounts and read that? That way you wont have to bore everyone else with your responses. I see people are listing boots offers from the boots website, in the meantime why don't you go over there and have a pop at them? Also if private individuals buying one item can ring dell up and ask for a discount then you really should have listed exactly how to do that as a post here - like the guys with the Sky+ posts have done. Not going to respond to you on this post again as its taking away from the point of the post.

Anyway, glad (most) people are pleased with the post. I didn't say i was anything special. If i've saved anyone some money then great - thats what this site is all about isn't it?

pgilc1 ... ive been at work so didnt see your pm actually .....

yes the laptop deal is a good one ...

    yes dell are outstanding

yes the previous deal has finished (at the moment)

i replied to you as you seemed deeply hurt that anyone could dare mention that your deal could , had or might be beaten , admit it you did go on about it .

you have posted a good deal id recommend dell to anyone and a laptop at £349 is brilliant given the time of year , but should someone mention disapproval at dell claiming the laptop has £100 off and then go on to mention that last week the machine or a very similar one was cheaper then why take it so personaly .

im happy to agree to disagree if you are ... and keep posting your finds as they will help people but dont be put out if another poster tries to further help another potential buyer by pointing out dells sales tactics .

and why £341 .... seems an odd price , my dell seems well reliable so maybe the 90 day option is worth considering rather than the year .

I bought my Dell laptop with a 12mth collect-and-return guarantee. Half way the screen backlight went off. Covered by the guarantee they sent a courier to collect the laptop, got it fixed and was delivered by courier again all done in 3 days! very impressed and would recommend to take this option
