Hi Faeriequeen,
Hope you`re smiling now...tomorrow ring all the agents & see whats out there. You know my situation already & now I have found somewhere I am looking forward to `the next chapter` ....bricks & mortar are just that `bricks & mortar`..If you move get some really nice pictures of the garden & house & remember the good things..thats what I shall do!

Hi Faerie
When I was considering the vol repo route I kept thinking of my cat who is buried in my back garden- and- yes- its hard( Id be tempted to dig him up too and take him with me ). Also LAs just seemed to think of my surviving cat as a bit of a nuisance- this was even worse- it seemed personal.
Try private landlords- a lot said they didnt really care I was bankrupt cat owner- as long as rent was paid. Anyway- "any port in a storm"- put up with pet restrictions for now- and going forwards things will get easier.
I understand the wrench you feel- my cat used to love to sit in the sun on the lawn ( back in the days when I didnt even know what an OR was)- so yes- I understand the end of era thing.
Waspeze- your "squerm" sounds pretty cool.0 -

Just had visit from someone from housing association to assess my eligibility to apply for social housing-I thought I'd have to try to start thinking seriously about my options if I have to leave my property-which, in terms of affordability and sustaining my mortgage, seems quite likely (don't know yet what view Or will take about house, as I've mentioned before)
Anyway, it was another step to face -hammers home the reality of it all and the need to be prepared to accept change and to try and stay positive about it as much as possible.
One thing that upset me though was that I was told that my daughter and myself could only be considered for a 2 bedroomed flat (that wasn't the upsetting thing!) and that pets were not allowed. He asked me if I had any pets and I explained that unfortunately not, and that my cat was buried in the garden( that was the upsetting bit to which he made no reply!)
He then said that I could have a goldfish or a hamster but no dogs or cats!
Just made me feel it was the end of an era-even though my lovely cat is no longer alive-not a good feeling to think of potentially leaving him behind in the garden he used to love slinking about in!
Thanks for listening!x Hope you don't think I'm barmy!
I really dont think your barmy at all as far as the cat is concerned
We lost our cat just under two years ago when we moved house and i still worry about him now as the lingering question remains as to what happened to him(I found him abandoned in a park when he was a kitten and i guess there was an extra connection with him because of this.
Non animal lovers will never understand that they really do become part of the family but take heart in knowing hes at peace.
I know you were nt asking about whether to get a hamster or a goldfish but seriously...if you do move into a house that only allows these pets dont underestimte the hamster....my daughter has one and they have the most amazing natures(noisy little beggars at night though:rolleyes:)
best wishes0 -

Funny you should say that as we had goldfish and one of them took to attacking the others and had to be put it in a seperate tank0 -
Mine did that- one particular goldfish was the "jaws" of its tank-it also tried it on with much larger fish- stick with hamsters faerie.0
