  • Just had a look at the site and there isnt anyhting about free line rental. the best i saw was 10 months half price line rental. but the contract is still for 18months. so its a cheaper option, but doesnt work out cheaper than saving the money you would spend on line rental and buying the phone on payg!

I don't actually need one - but if the deal on that banner was worthwhile I'd have got one! As I say, I'm suspecting false advertising - as I searched everywhere on their site and could not find a single free line rental deal for those phones... so I want to know specifically if someone has found that deal.

It only said the phone is free. You can get it with 6 months free months rental on the £75/month 18 month contract, or 9 months half price rental (18 month contract), on the £35/month tariff.

I've quoted what it said above Quentin... I've just managed to upload it to ImageShack so here it is!

Surely saying 9 months half-price is not the same as saying "free" because although you're getting the equivalent of a few months free by it being half price, you're still paying. Misleading, surely!

When they offer totally free line rental, then they say that.

eg "12 months free on a 12 month contract".

You have misunderstood "now free line rental" to mean "totally free line rental".

No - I know what you are saying, but there is no '£35/month' deal that offer any months of free line rental at all. in any given month, it's either half or full, but never free on that tariff.

They're too "clever" with their advertising!

Last month they told us all to order our free 12 month rental deals by 4:00 pm on the last day of the month, as they had to end. Thereby squeezing the last possible sales for the year end.

On the first April, they had ended - and been replaced with 12 months at £0.01p a month!
