    Dear all,

Perhaps even better than the "2 for 1" offer (especially if travelling weekends) is the 2-for £90 offer on Eurostar tickets available here:

    http://www.theargus.co.uk/competitions/eurostaroffer/
    or
    www.eurostar.com/2for90

They have VERY good availability at the moment through June, July, August (much better than the 2 for 1 offer) and if you go through Quidco you also get £3.60 cashback. Plus, there's no need to go shopping in Bluewater!

The password is PARIS (I sent the text).

    Bon Voyage!

Travel at 186mph from either Ashford or Ebbsfleet International between Tuesday May 6 and Sunday August 31 2008 and discover the excitement and culture of the Continent throughout the spring and summer.

I can't believe that you can't use Clubcard vouchers now, I've been saving them since last January to go to Paris for the day!

Thanks to everyone for clarifying it all for me!

I was saving the Clubcard vouchers for Eurostar too, and would have had enough after the next Clubcard points mailout. Got enough on Nectar, but Tesco had a better deal.

Ooh la la, as they say.
  • Hi everyone - I have just had 3 days in Paris with my two boys just last week and it only cost me for the hotel. I used £75 of Tesco vouchers to buy 3 Eurostar vouchers which you then convert into eurostar tickets over the phone to make your booking. We are a single parent family and this was a really cheap holiday for us.

If the offer runs out today all you need to do is go online NOW and order your Eurostar vouchers and then you can sort out the rest by phone when the voucher arrives in the post.

We use Tesco points every school holiday to do something or other.... 4 star hotel in London, days out tickets, ferry crossings you name it tesco points pays for it for us!

The Argos 2 for £90 offer, do you have to travel from Ebbsfleet, or can you travel from St Pancras? If only Ebbsfleet, are there any other offers from St Pancras anyone has seen recently? Need to book for going in May/June. Thanks!

I believe it is only from Ashford or Ebbsfleet and by the way it is not Argos but Argus - a subtle fifference!

Eurostar 2 for 1 offer Bluewater Voucher code - paris

I have just booked this on eurostar for the 13th May for a 1 day return using the paris password. All Ok and received a confirmation email to confirm 2 tickets for £58. However looking on the terms and conditions it says that you may have to produce the voucher on the day.
Any one know if this will happen as I got the password from this forum.

Can anyone put my mind at ease and con firm I do not need to produce the voucher!!

The tickets are being sent to me within 2 working days...

From the weekly email... someone clearly didnt do geography GCSE :D

"Eurostar 2 for 1 tickets are back. From £58 for 2 from Essex"

Since when were Ebbsfleet or Ashford in Essex?!

    :rotfl:
  • These are the official rules regarding the free travel on South Eastern taken directly out of the Railway Bible (The Fares Manual).

Travel to EBBSFLEET INTERNATIONAL and/or ASHFORD INTERNATIONAL for Eurostar customers

Eurostar ticket holders can travel free of charge to Ebbsfleet International or Ashford International stations on Southeastern operated services only.

The domestic rail station at Ashford International is adjacent to the Eurostar station. For Ebbsfleet International, passengers should travel to either Dartford, Greenhithe, Gravesend or Swanscombe station for a free Fastrack bus connection or Northfleet where the customer will need to take a taxi at their own expense.

Customers must be able to present a valid proof of purchase of a Eurostar ticket and a valid proof of identity – see below:

    Free travel is valid:

    •on Southeastern operated services only

•to/from Dartford, Greenhithe, Gravesend, Swanscombe or Northfleet (for passengers booked on Eurostar to/from Ebbsfleet International

•to/from Ashford International (for passengers booked on Eurostar to/from Ashford International)

•on Fastrack bus connections to Ebbsfleet International to/from Dartford, Greenhithe, Gravesend, Swanscombe (note: Passengers travelling via Northfleet will need to take a taxi at their own expense)

•in standard accommodation only, regardless of the class of travel the passenger may have on a Eurostar service. However, passengers may upgrade in line with the National Rail Conditions of Carriage (NRCoC) and should be considered to be travelling on a Standard Single ticket for this purpose.

•up to 12 hours before/after the departure/arrival time at either Ebbsfleet International or Ashford International.

    Free travel is not valid:

•on any TOC’s services other than Southeastern

•to Eurostar passengers booked to/from London St Pancras International.

•in first class accommodation regardless of the class of travel the passenger may have on a Eurostar service unless passengers have upgraded in line with the National Rail Conditions of Carriage. Passengers should be considered to be travelling on a Standard Single ticket for this purpose.

The agreement does not entitle Eurostar passengers to any other benefits such as free car parking, refreshments or any other ancillary services.

Proof of purchase of a Eurostar ticket

Eurostar passengers must be able to provide proof of purchase for each traveller. The following are acceptable as proof of purchase:

•ticket issued by Eurostar (UK) Limited for travel on a Eurostar service

•ticket issued by SNCF for travel on a Eurostar service

•ticket issued by SNCB for travel on a Eurostar service

•ticket issued by a travel agent for travel on a Eurostar service

•electronic booking confirmation for travel on Eurostar service

The proof of purchase should contain the following information:

    •departure station

    •arrival station

•name of passenger (not on tickets issued by SNCF or SNCB)

Eurostar passengers unable to provide sufficient proof of purchase for each passenger may be liable to NRCoC, Southeastern Penalty Fares Scheme or Railway Byelaws.

    4. Bookings may be made in one of the following ways:

    A. Calling the Eurostar contact centre on 08701 602080 and quoting the title in which the promotional voucher was provided. All telephone bookings will be subject to a £5 booking fee; or
    B. Visiting https://www.eurostar.com/essex as advertised on the promotional voucher. Applicants may be asked to produce the original promotional voucher as evidence of their eligibility to book tickets under this promotion.

Taken from the terms and conditions on the Eurostar promotion page. So it looks like you need to take the original voucher that was in the paper (presumably an Essex local paper?) because they may ask to see the voucher on the train as proof that you are eligible for the promotion. What do you reckon the likelihood of them asking for the voucher is? Or does anybody know which paper the vouchers are in?
  • Just refering back a few pages its worth mentioning that French Eurostar tickets are about 15% less for the same train than british purchased tickets. ie Paris-London-Paris return (was about £52 equiv starting price) and cheaper than London-Paris-London (around £59 starting price).

Various reason given including....The french dont want to go to the Uk in the same numbers as we want to go there (supply and demand pricing), the French arm of Eurostar is nationalised the British private (so profits to make), strength of the pound (or now weekness surely!!!), or just plain rip off britain!

I am told this is why Eurostar dont offer cheap 'single' airline type fares (only as part of a compulsary return) as it would blow this UK/FR annomally out of the water.........
