No she's not, sadly. It'll all work out ok in the end though I'm sure.

And still end up quids in. Sigh.

Best wishes to Mrs G. ......Hope all goes OK.

I may know of a lifechange opportunity. A nice boutique in a very chi chi area should really be converted to Ye Olde Tea Shoppe. But owner can't face chopping sandwiches all day.

Requires one of the intellectual elite to challenge the Costa Coffee disease.

I miss telly...so has Sarah still got bad hair?

Hmmm, a slapped @rse has a certain appeal with it's rosey cheeks.

I thought it looked more like an @rse with diarrhoea. :)

    Nice thoughts I hope.

I just can't keep up with these massive days and give Mrs Generali the support that she needs. If you hear of anyone with a hedge fund that needs a talented young tyro to do very little work for huge sums of cash then please put them my way.

Have you thought about messing around with spread betting and penny shares and building your own fund? If you do can you tell me how to do it too :)

There is always freelancing. People give you a wedge and you go and earn money with it and take a chunk of the profits. I would have thought some of the wealth management firms might want someone with a good track record in this kind of thing. Investment coaching is all the rage. With the property market becoming more challenging there may be a boat load of property investors looking for the next place to stick their money, which is where you come in. Also coaching people how to create an independent source of income with various financial instruments could be lucrative and quite satisfying as you'd be pulling them out of the daily grind.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

OH is matey with a bloke who needs this.
Ex Navy, made a killing on property and bailed out last year...keeping a little.
Has 2 million on deposiit and doesn't know what to put it into.....scary...he really doesn't.
He fancies buying a bar / club near us (though he has neg exp)...but we keep telling him 'No' as most are going down the pan or are being off loaded as they are Rubbish.

Perhaps I should flog him Ye Olde Tea Shoppe franchise.

The problem with all these things is matching up the honest coach and the person needing the help.

No wonder they never had footage of her face when they sold 5 months later for 665k when they were originally aiming for 750k...:D

Cheers happinessfactory. She'll be alright I'm sure. I'm a glass half full sort of a chap most of the time which helps when things are not so great.

I was a bit concerned about quitting but I'm getting a lot of people saying to me, "Oooh, are you looking for work" with the same look on their faces that blokes used to have on their faces when my very pretty friend split up with her boyfriend (as would happen all the bl00dy time) and they'd say, "Oooh, so you're not together any more then".

    We'll see what happens.

when my OH got his diagnosis back in 04 and then a week later, got shafted for 50k, I recall just feeling numb. Then a series of bad things occurred...one after the other, disaster after disaster. In isolation, each thing was manageable, but together in a big mish mash, it was a 'challenge'.

These things always seem to come out of the blue.

I wish you well, plus the half full mindset is a good one to have during times like these. I confess to being a half empty type of mindset.

I hate to sound trite, but 'good' things do come out of this stuff.....takes a while though.

4 years on, and the adjustments (well...total life change really) were positive on the whole (if I exclude choosing to abandon my London business that had a certain status attached to it) but OH recovered fully and is as annoying as ever.;)

Good that you are wanted........just spec a 9 - 5 contract? plus a bit of holiday time?

FWIW this Cr Cr is now attacking what we managed to keep (and mking planning impossible) and I am having a bit of a 2004 moment all over again (but without the bad health issues) so to read your post with it's positive stance is helpful too.

    Again, wishing Mrs G well.

    Clare
The glass is half full saying is the one I must keep repeating.
