BBC i-Player for Wii launches tonight

I am quite disappointed with the picture quality using the iplayer through the wii, I made it 'full screen' by zooing in a bit, but the picture was generally very 'blocky'.
Although to give them their credit, the BBC say there will be lots of tweaking done in the next few months.
People who don't already have wii internet channel, (btw when did they start charging for it?! I got it free but that was ages ago?!) I would say don't bother for now unless you have a pressing need. The BBC are hoping to have an iplayer channel as a stand-alone within the next 3 months. Using the iplayer yesterday brought the total number of times I've used it to about three.0 -
I didn't state we have to pay BBC, just that we have to pay for it. I know it will be Nintendo, but it seems a bit of a cheek to ask money for it.
Anyhow doesn't seem to be any option to pay either or at least there wasn't in early hours of this morning
You have to go onto the Wii shopping channel and download the Opera browser to get access to the Internet. Costs 500 points. As I posted before you can save up your Wii stars to pay for it unless you are desperate to use them to by Uridium.
Then just go to the BBC i-player site, and Roberts a close relative.
I would think that Nintendo have some licencing agreement with Opera so thats why they charge for it.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

A laptop tends not to be connected to a TV.
I would guess many people would prefer to watch this sort of content on their TV although full screen would be nice.
Yes, the point I was making was if you have a laptop or PC then you already have a way of watching this on your TV for nothing unless you can't view the content on these on your tv for some reason0 -
I gather the browser was free until Jun 07 and I find it incredible they charge for browser. its almost unheard of now to buy a browser they almost always free0

Browsers have never been free, we pay one way or another...
I found the quality OK for watching something you have missed. Wouldn't want to watch everything that way though.0
