Tesco wrong prices thread part 4 - please post your finds here

I think that this thread has cost me too much money now. Today I have had to go out and buy a chest freezer, my lowly 4 cuft freezer compartment couldn't cope anymore.
It truly is unbelievable the amount of wrong prices, meats, poultry, cheese and fish are the main areas, but it just shows how many mistakes they make (some as much as a £1 per kilo issue), which no doubt have been reaping rewards UNTIL NOW.However, probably for every 1 Moneysaver there are 20 regular punters who look at the shelf assume its right and put it in the basket and think no more of it.
If I had such a policy, I'd make sure that the checks were in better shape, but I'm not, so long may the policy continue, and long may the staff put out clearly incorrect labels, but please make sure that its on low volume high priced items that don't take up much freezer space.
Could do with a nice leg of lamb, been a bit unlucky on the lamb front, which I'm a bit miffed about. :rolleyes:0 -
Just a little question, when you see a product with a shelf price at lets say £2.50 per kilo but you are charged say £2.65 per kilo what do you actually say to the CS dept ?
Im just a bit baffled thats all because people normally only know they have been overcharged when they have been over charged by price and not by the kilo..........if that made sense lol0 -
I just tell them that I think there's been an error with the price of this/these item(s), and ask them to check the shelf label.
I try not to have only purchased the mis-priced items, as it looks a bit obvious.
I also go with them to the shelf (if practical), as I don't want anything funny happening to the wrong label in the meantime.0 -
4 out of my last 5 shops didn't add up. I'm lucky to have very good mental arithmetic, so I know straight away if I've been 'had'. Two minutes checking my receipt is normally enough to spot the offending item, if I don't spot it going through the till.
Tesco's are the worst for this, oddly enough, Waitrose are nearly as bad. I have had vouchers out of them, but I really kicked up and asked for the manager, as I'd been overcharged on five items. I wasn't even 'fishing' at the time.
A bit of time recording shelf prices on your shopping list and/or keeping tabs with a calculator as you go round could be a useful strategy, especially now Tesco's seem to be wising up to us.0 -

Be straight with them tell them you noticed the price differential and that's exactly why you bought the item as you expected to see some kind of credit on your receipt for the reduction as it wasn't there you were able to determine that you had been overpriced and being aware of their refund and replace policy decided to take advantage of it, thus killing off the obvious and frequent responses like "I'll give you the difference" "you picked up the wrong item" "we go by pack price" "its a printing error" etc etc.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Does the same rule apply to Tesco Expree. May try there as they seem very busy there?
Karen your wrong, I have had about 6 bacon joints, loads of chicken and plenty of cheese from Wigan!!

Thats a damn fine shop Ben500. :T
Just one question on the matter of coupons, its an area I seem to be missing out on that needs to be addressed pronto. How are you able to spend £22 in coupons and what sort of coupons are they/ where are they from ?
I think in the last 4 days I have stung Mr T for around £100 on salmon, organic steak, chickens, BBPV steaks, and cheese. They have tried to wangle out of it on several of these occasions but show them the shelf price and they then the pack price, and show you know the policy and they have to submit, as long as you don't fold under pressure (as my wife did on Tuesday  ) after a debriefing I sent her back into the fray and its all system go again.

I put a good deal of effort into coupon gathering using many methods, web sites, magazines, patronisation of producers, speculatory requests, friends relatives etc, I pick up large quantities of magazines after issue date has expired from a boot seller at a fraction of the issue cost a lot of people discount magazines unless the coupon value is higher than face value, if you can locate a local supplier of returns issues you don't have such a high value to seek from the coupons within the mag hence this opens up lots and lots of publications others don't pursue for their coupons. I really am a fiend in my pursuit of coupons and do whatever I can to get on any mailing lists available, simple things like completing your details on at least one or two of those coupons requesting the info pays dividends as the coupons start to flow through your letterbox, the more enthusiastic you are about collecting the more enthusiastic people will be about helping you.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
