I was sent a similar email for "burn after reading" and then I found out a week later that the screening wasn't cancelled at all - a friend of mine went. And the seefilmfirst people still had the nerve to ask me for feedback on a film that they told me was cancelled.

My advice: go to the movie session anyway, (provided you have tickets) you'll find it is still on - what do you have to lose... but yeah, get there early to ensure that you do get a seat.

Wouldn't it make more sense just to ring the cinema and find out? That way, you don't waste time on the day by turning up if it is cancelled.

By the way, I think it#s important for posts like this to remain in this thread because, I, like many others, don't bother to read the discussion thread.
These posts don't even affect me as I was never going to the screening in the first place, but I would still rather see posts like this on this thread if it is going to affect me attending any showing.

And to those who are having a heart attack by seeing this posted here- tough, I'm not removing it :p

(But if makes you feel better and you would like a code, SOS = save our souls- that's morse code don't you know)

Dude. What a bunch of babies. I'm sorry, but the "Oh my god, it's not a code" is getting out of hand. I just posted the locations for a code in the other thread and it got bumped here, where it makes absolutely no sense (because the code's not there).

I've moderated on two other forums, and this is by far the biggest deal I've seen made about something so petty.

Ahhh! It's so frustrating, none of these codes apply to Brighton Odeon. Is anyone else frustrated with this?

Yes! How about all the codes for "W" but not a single code for Exeter. Anyone have a code?
  • I have got one ticket to see W on Tuesday night in Liverpool for anyone who wants it? I now cannot make it and when I email the "cantgo" email at SFF it bounces back. PM me if you're interested in going and you can have my ticket.

Sorry guys you're not allowed swap or give away tickets on the forum it's against the rules

    .EXCHANGING PERSONAL DETAILS

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). er.....did anyone get an email from SFF about VIP Text Previews

....but then the rest of the email talks about posting codes online _pale_

    SFF says:

    Posting codes on the Internet
This is really unfair and we (and most of the database) struggle to understand why people do this. You post the code anonymously, and stop other people getting tickets, for the sake of giving them to strangers who wont even thank you?!
If we do trace people doing this we will take them off the database, and we appreciate help from other members in tracking down these people - its pointless, and stops you getting tickets!

I have received 2 emails in 2 days from SFF saying that more tickets had been 'added', and giving me a code......but there were no tickets left . !!

I have been registered with SFF along with Momentum etc for years, and rarely get sent a code directly, and even when I do ( like the latest 2) I NEVER got a ticket this way.
The only tickets I have ever managed to get using codes etc, is courtesy of very VERY kind people posting on here and HDUK
p.s that includes when I have actually bought a magazine etc which had emblazoned on the front "Free cinema ticket for all readers to see....." across the front. There has never been any left. So, in effect, follow their rules, and the majority of us would NEVER get a free screening ticket, and heavens knows how they would manage to get anyone into these screenings. The last time I did get a free ticket to the new Leicester de lux cinema - it was less than half full. So if abusing the system gets a free screening half full, it would be virtually empty if we all sat twiddling out thumbs waiting for emails that never arrive:cool:

that's like me too...usually by the time i've read the email...the code has been posted on MSE, HUKD, FMUK etc already.....therefore no tickets left...

this is what i don't understand...how would they find out that you've posted a code online? lolz then remove us off SFF database?
