Thanks to Beate, saw Hellboy at Greenwich last night. Cinema was about 75-80% full, quite a few latecomers but they showed trailers so film started about 6.40-45.
I enjoyed it more than the first film, the fight scenes were good, and the guy that used to be in bros was a decent baddie. Not a whole lot of laughs but definitely had its moments. I wonder if we are going to see a Hellboy 3 because it felt like it.
I'd give it 7/10, after seeing Hellboy 1 on the TV the other day and being slightly disappointed, I think Hellboy is the type of film that you appreciate more on the big screen as the special effects are great.0 -

I'm hoping to win those Timeout Rocknfella 28th Aug for Surrey Quays....all the other Rocknfella codes are not for SE London...boooo I leave on 29th Aug as well....would have been nice to squeeze a free screeningbut I think Timeout don't like me because I never win tickets with them!

yes I was at Thurrock there was a phantom texter near me. I was on the left hand side as you went down the isle, probably about 4 rows down. Texter was in the same row as me but on the right of the isle. bloomin annoying when people do that. don't they realise it lights up the room!!! especially annoyed by the laties who used the phones as torches to find seats. bit concerned about the damp smell as well and the plastic covered seat with a bin in front of it??? what was that about. Have I mentioned my love of Thurrock before???
I saw you at thurrock a while back at another film

I was sitting 4 rows down on the right hand side right next to the phantom texter, I must have disturbed the message when I had to get up half way through and take my little one to the loo

Of course, I remember now. I was with my DS1 and 2 friends- I would have put phantom texters phone where they would have found it difficult to text:rotfl: Are you going to see the pineapple express????Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

Not going to see PE cause its a 15 and dd is only 7, friends say they want to come and then they don't so I only get to see the younger viewings, I fancy The Duchess but dd says it looks boring  , might offer her a bag of popcorn to come0 -

Docklands isn't far from Greenwich! West India Quay is on the DLR only one stop away from Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line) so if you can get to Surrey Quays from Woolwich, I would have thought West India Quay is easier and quicker to get to.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Somers Town at Odeon Covent Garden with myfilms:
The film started half an hour late but they were very apologetic about it. It was quite a big screen and we gave up on our usual seats in last row because those seats were quite small and without much legroom whereas there were some stonking wide seats further to the front. And as we were so early we could choose! A lot of people must have decided to go for a meal because the cinema filled up with a steady stream of people up until 7pm, when it was really quite full.
I wasn't sure the OH would like the film as it was in black and white and had a lot of subtitles but he loved it! It was really quite funny, and I wish I could have seen Tomo's ridiculous getup in colour. I thought the film was quite grainy and assumed it was because of the black and white, but the last few minutes were in colour and just as grainy. It did give the film some authenticity though.
It's one of those typical "nothing much happens, just showing you some people and how they live" films but it was really quite endearing.
7.5/10 from the OH and meReclaimed thanks to this site:
