Just back from Wimbledon and seeing "Me & Orson Wells" scheduled to be out 2009.
A relative good character driven film but at times seemed to be quite slow.
Christian McKay was excellent as Orson Wells and cleverly portraited the man as the egotistical, manipulative character that he is believed to have been.
Zac Efron played the part of Richard extremely well and showed his more serious side showing the optimistic and naivety of youth.
Claire Danes plays Sonya, the main female character, who befriends Richard and is monumental in teaching him the ways of the world but ultimately knows what she has to do to better herself.
A whole range of excellent supporting cast but ultimately the film falls a little short of the mark for me.
Many a young film goer will go because of Zac Efron but I fear that many will not have a clue as to who Orson Welles was and therefore the film will untimately go over their heads.
A 7/10 for me for this one - but do watch out for free screenings next year!!:j Member Number 18 of the "100 free films in London in 2010" club:hello:0 -

well i only watched Hellboy I last night as it came on 5ive lolz so I could definitely compare the two....I thought Hellboy I was okay but not great......Hellboy II was a little bit better.....e.g funnier and more action....I thought the fighting scenes were  wow wee! lolz
I think 6.5/10 is fair.....probably not a film i would watch again though compared to the other superhero films i watched this year!
I got to Greenwich cinema about 6:15pm because i was one of the sardines on the jubilee then waited agesssssssss for my nachos  so when we went into the screening  no seats?!?! i was with my bf and another couple so we had to split up and find some seating ourselves......luckily people were nice enough to budge up for us!thanks to those guys who budged up on row 3/4

LOL, no, I try to be back row, but in this case it was full already! And the back row at Vue West End for Miss Pettigrew wasn't very long so we decided second row from the back would give us better views!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

So while everyone else was watching Hellboy 2, I saw The Wackness at Cineworld Wandsworth yesterday. Was about 40% full - bit surprising as I think it was the only London cinema showing the film. They delayed the screening by half and hour so we had to come back for 7pm, which was fine, room for everyone!
I was expecting a lot from this but I found it a bit disappointing. Ben Kingsley was good and it was interesting to see Josh Peck in a more grown up role, but I felt there wasn't much of a story line and the I didn't warm to any of the characters. 6.5 out of 10 for me.0 -
