Verbatim don't manufacture any of their discs AFAIK and to be pedantic about jje's example, Optodisc don't manufacture for the Verbatim brand.
Pedantic ally you are correct . I must have had a different disc in the slot when i ran DVD info . Double check and they are Verbatim with MCC dye .
Thought it odd at the time as i generally use Verbatim or genuine Ritek .
Key is not to buy cheap stuff especially in bulk .
The only disc failures i have ever had was desperate purchase of 50 no name discs .

I am now getting confused....
Are these genuine Verbatim - http://www.discworlduk.co.uk/Verbatim-16x-4.7GB-DVD-R-25-Tub-p-19391.html
If not, can someone please send me a link where I can purchase genuine one's - if they don't mind...
Thanks

Those look ok. It's not so much a problem of them not being genuine, just that several companies make the discs for Verbatim, and they don't all produce the same quality of disc.
That's not to say there haven't been fake discs in the past, but if you're buying from a reputable place like SVP I wouldn't worry about that.
One thing that'd put me off discworlduk is that they don't always list who actually made the discs, only who's branded them. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

How disappointing, from the domain I was expecting Terry Pratchett branded DVDs.
