Usually we are covered against chargebacks for frauudulent use of a card but not for basic chargebacks for goods not received but don't forget we have problems on Amazon with the 28 day DSR rule. Any buyer can change their mind about any item and return it for a full refund including outward p and p within 28 days, no questions asked. You need to build returns into your business model just in case you get any.

i read about this recently and I think it is a joke! someone could buy a video game from you and play it for 3 weeks, complete the game/get bored of it and then return it for a full refund inc p&p!

i only sell unwanted and mostly used games, books etc on amazon, i'm not a business seller, don't understand why i have to offer refund/return for 28 days! fortunately i don't sell much on there at all so chance of it happening is unlikely i suppose.

DSR returns are a fact of life these days, that said I don't really get that many so it's not a huge problem.

Oh yes and whilst this hasn't been a problem for me yet there has been talk of problems on the seller discussion board. I think I have only had one book returned so far, possibly two due to a change of mind and that was bad enough especially where postage was heavy.

It's like that with ebay or your own website, although you can limit it to 7 days, if you don't show a clear returns policy it really can be a huge problem.

Treat with caution, it's quite a 'robust' environment and there is NO moderation.

As for your earlier question, there is a previous mention of auctions, these are no longer offered on amazon, also you did used to be able to place any item in your 'z-shop' if you paid a subscription, this facility has gone as well. If you do pay a subscription, you can create product listings, though take care here as some categories and high value items can only be sold by 'approved' sellers with a good track recordnd many is the complaint seen on amazon of people who have gone pro but still can't sell items in the category they wish to.

The knack with amazon is keeping accurae and full postage records, I'm fortunate all my things (99%) are in the category where Special Delivery or courier is the norm so I can provide the information when a chargeback is attempted (none have resulted in a chargeback gainst me) as I provide full tracking details.

To be honest I work on the principal if I !!!! up I refund in full plus return P+P. If buyer buys in error I refund less P+P although you will get the odd person who claims there P+P as well ad kicks up a big fuss but to be honest most folk are reasonable about this. I still lose a bit since Amazon P+P charges are lower than the cost to me.

I can list just about any item on Amazon but you need an ASIN number or the barcode number found on most items nowdays which basically means it has been listed before or if you are serious you can apply for these numbers can be a bit of a palaver and not something I have done.

    Hope that helps.
