selling on amazon

Can you only sell things that are already sold by amazon themselves?

What happens if what you have does not already appear on amazon?

Hi mostly yes - you can list other things in a shop but i can't for the life of me remember how you do it - i've sold some of my own jewellery on there I'll see if i can have a play and remember and give you some advice on how.

What is it that you are trying to sell on there?

I thought I'd give Amazon a go to knock out the sort of stuff I was selling on ebay.

Looking at Amazon, it does seem to be growing as a venue for sellers, and it does seem to have avoided the reutation that ebay seems to have gained.

The no chargebacks thing seems attractive.

i had a chargeback on amazon before, well amazon said they'd had a chargeback for an item i sold about 6 months beforehand. they asked me for proof of postage so they could fight it. i provided. i provided proof of postage and didn't hear anything else about it.

    But they took the hit?

if i didn't have proof of postage then they said they would have taken the money back off me but i sent them my proof of postage so i presume they showed it to the credit card company and got it stopped

Usually we are covered against chargebacks for frauudulent use of a card but not for basic chargebacks for goods not received but don't forget we have problems on Amazon with the 28 day DSR rule. Any buyer can change their mind about any item and return it for a full refund including outward p and p within 28 days, no questions asked. You need to build returns into your business model just in case you get any.
