Laptops?

My laptop keeps crashing on me & not switching off, so I am wondering if this looks good - http://www.staples.co.uk/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?Description=UK_CL_Laptops&CatIds=21797,35750,21850&webid=393441&affixedcode=WW

I only need it for browsing, photos & music. My daughter plays her games on it - Dora, Pooh (She;s only 5!!!).

If the one above is not of good spec, can anyone recommend one for about the £400.00 price range - preferably not from PC World?

Thanks

I have had a look, but not sure if it a better spec than the one I saw in Staples. This is the Samsung one I looked at - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134631

Can anyone shed any light on this to help me?

    Thanks

Mate the fujitsu one from staples is a far superior machine. Faster processor with double the RAM. I would go for that one.

Thanks you. I know how to work a PC/Laptop, but not much about buying them.

How long do Laptops usually last for? Mine at the moment has an AMD Sempron processor, but I have been doing some research & this processor seems to not have good reviews. I have had it nearly 2 years, which the guy in Staples said was a fair time.

It has started to shut done on me (the laptop) & sometimes it won't switch off. I have to then unplug it & wait for the battery to run down. Which isn't long as the battery has never been that good.

So, I am looking for a better machine - preferably not from PC World. I do alot of photos, music & my daughter does her games on it (she's 5)...

    Thanks

The problem with any computer equipment is that they are usually out of date fairly quickly. You should be safe with a new one for a few years or until the software just gets too demanding. The fujitsu one from staples has double the hard disk capacity of the other one too so plenty of room for photos and games

Wipe and clean install time I fear, Pain in the butt, but about the right time to try. It will run sweet then, and you can save some cash, or use as a spare.

I think this is an absolute bargain. £289.97 with the cashback. If you use quidco i think you can get further cashback upto 3%
