As the majority of your posts have been on DFW and BR boards, both of which I have posted on , and read, I have read them, along with other numerous posts by other users.

An excellent response, brownstuff, and the content of which I fully agree with.

• BC,

Can I clear something up.

I have no "personal crusade" against you and do not put this on "all" your posts.

As the majority of your posts have been on DFW and BR boards, both of which I have posted on , and read, I have read them, along with other numerous posts by other users.

If I see spam I report it, to help the other users.

I adopt the same principle when you, and apologies if I am mistaken, use this site as a vehicle to tout for business on a fee charging basis, and imply that the charities/organisations will not be as productive as yourself.

Your signature also baffles me....

Why would someone pay you for a service when by your own admission you have no legal training, and furthermore you advise consulting a "professional" before taking your advice. As you have painted yourself better than the CAB etc which professional are you referring to:confused: or are you asking people to pay you a fee, then go to someone for free advice:confused:

Also thanks should not be asked for but given freely, I have yet to see another signature that asks for thanks.

I have no doubt that you are extremely knowledgeable in these areas, and I assure you I don't want to start falling out with people on this board, it has become a lifeline for me of late, but why not do like ROG2 suggests and put your knowledge to use working for one of the charities.

ImmorralangelUk has a brilliant diary where she is doing just this, makes good reading.

Apologies again if I offended you but I am just thinking of other users, who as you agree, should take professional advice

I have not been offended. people are getting the wrong idea. When i had problems with bailiffs, debt collection agencies i sought advice from the cab. For obvious reasons i do not want to go into it but for a start it took me 3 weeks to meet someone. Another 3 weeks to get the first letter fired off. Then as history has it i saw the cag website where i started recovering my losses via court action etc. I know what i am doing and have no worries about attending court of any sort. however when i read posts on people scared of going to court or are scared that bailiffs will be knocking on the door even before litigation has started it annoys me.

Then the correct thing to do is offer advice here or elsewhere FREE OF CHARGE.

And we know you can.

Nobody forced you do set it up or for you to choose a username here that is the same.

That falls only very short of breaking this rule.

No usernames should contain websites or email addresses – if you see one please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com so it can be changed.

Forum users should not post their or anyone else’s personal details (full names, email addresses, home addresses or telephone numbers).
You have also in the past linked to your own website, attempted to get members to contact your privately for "advice", and suggested that people here lie, cheat and act illegally in order to get "one over" on their creditors/bailiffs.

And you wonder why it gets peoples back up?

If you play by the site rules and give free, public and legal advice then people shouldn't have a problem.

You blame everyone for "getting" at you, but you are too blind to see why.

EDIT: And I'm not even trying to get at you here. I'm just trying to get you to see why you get the response you do!

May I ask, BC - are you actually earning a living out of your website?

The website is just a hobby. My real job is running or starting a business and then selling for a profit.

I'm afraid people round here have good memories and are (normally with good reason) highly suspicious of anyone who charges for advice, whatever the motives.

I'm afraid that is a ghost you are going to have to work quite hard and for quite a while to "exorcise". If you want to do that then I'm sure people will welcome it.

Then, perhaps, you could apply for 'charitable status' which would enable you to apply for 'grant funding' in order to run it on a 'not for profit' basis?
