Post Office Credit card - decision through post?

Hi, applied for a post office credit card which I thought gave you an instant decision at the end, however mine said that they are sending it out through the post and will arrive within 5 working days! Anyone else had this?
I'd appreciate some advice as how I should be applying for credit cards, I lived in university accomodation and then a student house for the last 3 years and moved back home with my parents around 8 months ago. The same house I had lived in previously for 18 years - when it asks how long I have lived at this address (my parents) do I put 8 months? or 21 years?
Cheers

I wasn't given a decision there and then when i applied for my goldfish card 10 days ago but they did say they would e-mail if i had been turned down.
I've still not received my card..
On your question regards your address i would put 8months because it often asks how long have you been currently living at an address..
Sorry i can't help you on the other things0 -
No probs, thats what I did (put 8 months) but its a bit confusing as it asked me to list my previous address as I had lived at current one less than 3 years. I only lived at my previous uni address for 2years as well!
Thanks for the reply, just gonna wait for the outcome through the post now I guess.0 -
The address/addresses you use to apply should reflect the electoral roll.0

Exactly. Lenders check your ID electronically using the electoral roll. Many routinely reject applicants when the info' given is inconsistent with the register, so you owe it to yourself to get this sorted before you submit another credit card application.
Lots of us had instant decisions and credit limits from the Bank of Ireland and its

Thanks, I have never actually voted but think I was on the electoral roll in my uni place, but not filled in any forms or anything since moving back home
Will a credit check like experian or something let me see where I am registered on the electoral roll? 0 -

I would strongly advise you to enrol at your current address. It's free after all and everyone's credit score improves no end once registered.
It's possible to enrol each month from early December until mid-August, using the rolling register procedure.
If you type "electoral roll" and the name of your council into google, you'll be directed to the relevant pages on your local authority website. Most council websites are set up so you can register online or download a form. The majority include an explanation of how the register is compiled and when your name will appear.
Once done, you may have to contact your local Electoral Services Dept, to ask when the credit reference agencies are next updated, as frequency varies.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

I applied for a Leeds BS card (run by Goldfish) and got letter from them after about 2 weeks approving the card but also with a form to sign and return, this is due to the fact that Goldfish was taken over by Barclays at the end of March (the terms and conditions that you applied for stay the same though)I have a deep burning indifference0 -
P.O. asked me to provide some additional information before the approved my application. Passport copy, bank statements etc, so it could be that they ask you to do the same.0
