Retention deals--are they less generous?

Now that so many cashback companies have gone belly up or are offering less competitive deals, do people find that retention deals from their network operators are no longers as generous as they used to be?
I do not have any personal experience of this as my contract isn't up for renewal for another 6 months. Just thought this may be a natural reaction to cashback companies no longer being able to offer competitive deals. Has anyone negotiated a retention deal recently? If so, share your experiences!

Varies on the network. People still seem to be getting relatively good retention deals out of 3, but T-Mobile are as terrible as ever.0
