he could want to meet in a busy subway station as it may make getting away that bit easier if he's planning on doing a runnerhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Crikey. Personal safety is one thing, paranoia is another! (This is directed at a few posts, not anyone in particular
)
I would accept, and take someone with me. Don't be rushed, find somewhere to sit quietly so you can check the notes properly. Don't worry about the name thing - if in the unlikely event that someone had been hacked, what harm would it do them if the hacker paid you cash?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Don't do it. This sounds like a variation on a common crime perpetrated on people placing free ads. Red Alert! Red Alert as soon as I saw the words 'busy underground station'.
They buyer will examine the goods and say that it's not to his liking and will walk away. You will walk away too. Except that you'll be hustled and the goods will be taken from you. The 'buyer' will be innocent, of course, and know nothing about it when the police question him/her.
I'll leave you to guess what I do for a living. Evening All!0 -

)........ change the meeting to outside the underground station by all means
dont let him pay with £20 or £50 notes, fakes are doing the rounds again.....
which is why someone suggested a bank transfersmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Hi everyone,
Quick update. I went on my lunchbreak to have a load of text messages saying that something has come up, and he can't meet me, but his wife can with their baby. He said that he wanted me to give the phone to his wife without her checking it, then he would contact me later if there was any problems.
I said no to that straight away. I told him I'd taken pictures of the phone, and I want his wife to check it. I got to the station and I walked past the station and saw her waiting there, and walked back to meet her. I told her I would like to go to a coffee bar to complete the transaction. She said that was fine, so I got a drink, and we sat down. She gave me the money first, and looked at it. I made her say that she was perfectly happy with it which she was.
This evening they left me excellent feedback, so at the moment everything looks ok!!! One thing is for sure, I won't be doing that again!!!0 -
sounds like a weird lot lol
can i ask,were they foreign?
i ask because sometimes a language barrier can make messages/arrangements seem a bit weird0
