Strange, I'm using Firefox, yet have never seen this.

Just hold your cursor over a thread title. esuhl is quite right and it happens whether you're using IE, Firefox or Opera. (Literally tried all 3 just now and it's the same).

Ah, you mean when looking at the list of threads.

I see it. However it remains there until you move your mouse, it simply tells you what the first line or so of the topic is, helps when people annoyingly don't tell you what there post is about in the title and therefore saves you clicking on it to find out, or as people people do ignore threads that don't tell you what they are about in the title.

I find it useful as it saves clicking in the post to find out what it's about. On mine it stays on the screen until I move the mouse onto the next thread title in the list, so you have plenty of time to read it.

I thought the OP meant once inside and reading the thread as in here.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Personally I find it quite useful as well. It was probably a bit misleading when it was called a pop up in the OP's question.

I also find it useful, it gets on my nerves when other sites don't have it and you have to click on a thread before you know if you're interested in it or not. If you don't want the preview to appear, just keep the mouse pointing at the right hand side of the page!
