Some people are such scumbags!

When checking my online banking tonight i found that some scumbag had managed to get hold of my card details and spent £237 on amazon.
i was so shocked i didn't know what to do first, had to call a friend so she could calm me down and tell me to call the bank (should have been instantly obvious but this is me
) the bank are investigating this and said it can take up to 7 working days, they have also cancelled my card so have no money ( my lovely friend in work has offered to lend me some money to see me through till it gets sorted)
this is just a rant really as i can't understand why people get their jollies from stealing from other people, i could never do that, i am the sort of person who hands things in if i find them, i found a fiver in work a few months ago by the cash machine(work in big call centre) and took it to security. i just can't understand how people can do things like this

Oh bringmeshoes, poor you, this happened to me once and has happened to my partner several times, it is trully aweful and you end up feeling violated. Whats more annoying is you know the person who has done this is unlikely to get procecuted. When it happened to my boyf it was someone from our block of flats and they still nothing about it. i hope you get the money situation sorted soon enough though. Its just a shame there are some people out there who can't rely on their own money to do their shopping.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I know what you mean, I couldnt keep something I had found, just not right! My brother found a Nokia N95 when they first came out, we tried to ring some of the numbers but had no luck, so I took it into the local police enquiry office, the guy took some details and said "I suppose your brother wants to keep the phone?" I just stared at him, I said of course he doesnt, he has own phone! If I find something then I do all I can to return it to its rightful owner, my sister in law on the other hand didnt want anything to do with the phone and told my brother to leave it on the grass where he found it
I hope you manage to sort the amazon money, and fingers crossed nothing else goes out, its a scary thought having card details stolen.0 -

The annoying thing is, the person can't have needed anything from amazon. I mean if they bought, say baby milk, you might think differentlyunsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

Oh how annoying for you. I had the same - for £1700 a few years ago. My bank were actually really good though, refunded the charges without me asking (!!!!) and sorted it all out.
Hope it's done quickly for you.

Seems you've also found out how good it is to have good friends .0 -
is there a way to contact amazon yourself and ask what was bought with that card number? I would be a detective myself..ask what address the stuff went to etc?TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

My DH and I had nearly £10k stolen from our accounts 3 years ago-best bit was that we didn't have £10k, they up our O/D's to £4500 on 2 accounts then transferred it!
We did get it back but it caused endless probles for years.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Do you have your card details stored in your Amazon account?? If so...
Have you tried to log onto your amazon account in case they have managed to get into there?? I had my ebay account stolen a year ago and they had been in, changed a load of my details and changed my password on me. It might be worth checking (if you haven't already) that they didn't scam you using that route.
I hope that you manage to get it all sorted quickly.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
