Northern Rock Fixed Rate ISA?

I'm looking for an ISA that:

Allows transfers in
Allows withdrawals with no penalty or notice
Offers a decent fixed rate

So far the Northern Rock Fixed Rate seems about the best option as everything else seems to be variable rate, or locks you in or doesn't accept transfers.

Just after a sanity check on whether I've overlooked anything obvious please?

Thanks in advance.

    Bump anyone?

Was also looking at the Nationwide fixed rate but it appears that you can only make one deposit i.e. can't do a transfer and add this years allowance.

U can open more than One Nationwide Fixed Rate account at the prevailing fixed rate at the time they are funded and whilst Nationwide are offering ISA fixed rate accounts. i.e you could open one for 3600 ( 2008/09 ISA allowance) and another to transfer funds in from another provider.

Nationwides ISA Fixed Rate Account does not come with penalty free access during the fixed rate period.

The whole thing is quite funny tbh, every account you look at seems to have some twist or turn or gotcha.

I looked at a couple of the smaller banks, Ruffler and Julian Hodge as they seem to offer decent rates with what looks like no catches/small print - be interested it anyone has any views or experience of them.

Ruffler Bank is min 9000 + 30 days notice paying 6.14% A.E.R, not something that would cause me to. :j
  • I think you can only put money in while the prouct is available, once its withdrawn you cant put anymore money in... i might be confusing that with another product though...
You can add extra money to your Cash ISA (subject to HMRC Rules) while the Cash ISA is still available to new customers.
This is a strictly limited issue. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, please submit your application as soon as possible

Tbh there aren't any that are making me jump for joy! I should add that I do have around £10k total including sticking in this years allowance.

Perhaps I'm making life difficult for myself by keeping looking around but it does seem there are few "one stop" places that just offer a decent rate, accept transfers, and let you have access to your money should you need it.

I emailed Ruffler with a query last night and had a reply just before 8am this morning, it's a little thing but little things do count.
