changing phone number?

I am with orange broadband at the minute and would like to change my house phone no. (due to crank calls).

Can I still use my internet with the new phone no or do I have to call them to let them know so I can use my internet?

If you change your number and use ADSL then you must tell your provider in advance or you will find your BB no longer works as it is physically set on the line.

Thanks for that info. I rang orange last night and they said to change my phone line I would be without broadband for about 15 days. :mad:

Any way I got my monthly payment down by £6 per month and 2 free months. That phone call was well worth it:beer:

That 15 days is because they will need to cease the BB service on the old number and then re-provide against the new number. Its not as easy as just clicking on a button and it's all done. They have to get a BT engineer into the exchange to move your connection, then when that line is active and working properly you have to re-order the BB against that line. Physically they cannot take an ADSL order against a line that is inactive or does not yet exist.
