Please help, 6mths no Orange broadband...

I really need help and advice on this, I’ve been tearing my hair out for months trying to get broadband in my flat. I won’t bore you with the details of running up huge bills calling technical support with no result, or the promises of broken calls, but suffice to say its been a nightmare.
I have had Orange broadband for 18mths, and never had any problems until I moved house… Cut to 6 mths later, £60 spent calling technical support, and I still don’t have broadband.
When the escalations department eventually started dealing with me, they said the account has never been provisioned properly, and that is why its never worked. So they put in a new request to add my number to the LLU system, which failed. They then did this another few times. At one stage they said the orders were getting clogged up because there was “no way to remove existing orders on the system”, and because my order had never completed, they couldn’t unblock the problem.
Orange say the problem is the LLU system. They say a number of requests to add my number to the system have been passed to the LLU system, but each one has failed. Each week goes buy and they say they will respond on Friday, but that come and changes to next Friday. The Orange guy has advised me I’d be best moving to another provider. Now they say that the orders keep failing and they just have to wait for the LLU people to reply. At one stage they closed and then re-opened the whole broadband account, which took 20 days, hoping that would fix it.
On Friday I told them to remove their tag from my line because I was fed up – the Orange guy said this was the best course of action. Talking through the problem, given he thinks its an LLU problem, he thinks if I go to another LLU supplier I’ll have the same problem. He is going to refund me the cost of the tech support calls.
Does anyone have any suggestions for either getting Orange to fix the situation, or finding an ISP that will supply me with broadband? I have searched but can’t find a list if ISPs that use IP Stream, other than BT. I would prefer not to pay through the nose for broadband, hence I’m annoyed BT are my only choice.
Any suggestions gratefully received…

dslzone ratings
there are hundreds of ipstream isps, that is just the ratings of the better known ones,as you can see your isp of choice fares quite badly
advising on an isp does require a little information, under normal circumstances i'd suggest visiting samknows.com to check llu availability, but i'll pass on this occasion (though i believe the fault is more likely orange than llu itself) when you did have broadband, what was your average monthly use? did you play games? watch tv online? download music/video?Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
I'll never find out whos fault it is, I've hung on until now but I really think its now time to cut my losses.
Where can I find out which ISP will give me IP Stream?
I had broadband from mid 2006 to September 2007, when I moved house. Average monthly use was low, just surfing, and downloaded an average of 1 TV prog per month. Never had an issues with useage.
The problems started when I moved house!
Any other advice gratefully recieved!0 -
Just looked at samknows.com, and the only non LLU provider is BT. Any views on whether I should go with them, or whether another decent ISP would be able to sort out the LLU problems?0

newnet homelite looks like it should fit the bill. as to a list of ipstream isps, so far as i am aware there is no definitive one, the list i linked to is primarily ipstream, though it gets blurry when companies offer both llu and ipstream (aol, tt, tipex etc..) but they're all carp anyway, in the dslzonelist, 8, 15,17 and 20 are the only llu in the top 20, all the others are ipstream, and if you're looking further down the list than 20 then...Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

I had a similar issue with Orange back in early 2007 which led me to shifting away from them after a similar painful process.
Ended up talking to BT Wholesale (or whatever they're called now) to get the tag on my line removed. Turned out there was a tag on the line from the previous owner's BB service that Orange couldn't be bothered to sort out properly. I'm not sure if the BT Tag Removal team are still taking calls from Retail customers directly...if not it'll be utterly painful if you try to move to a BB provider other than BT.
I ended up avoiding LLU providers given the issues I had with Orange. Shifted to an Entanet reseller and not looked back since.
Service provided by Enta is such an improvement on Orange's...0
