Or if you do not want the hassle of trying to sell give your local council a call. Most offer tale back schemes for unwanted cars as it is cheaper for them to deal with them like that than tohave them abandoned on the road and the hassle of getting them cleared.
Indeed they are under a legal duty to accept them as waste if you take it to your local Civic Amenity Site (the local tip sometimes now called waste and recycling centres or similar). they will say they do not need to take them but they do. Say the Refuse Disposal Amenity Act places a duty on them to accept all waste delivered by householders and that subsequent legislation has never repealed that duty.
In the not to distant future the End of Life Vehicle Directive will kick in and the vehicle manufaturers will be responsible for taking the vehicle back from you and disposing of it appropriately0 -
Yes, Waster is right. We got a leaflet from the Council recently about recycling and it said it will collect and dispose of old, unwanted cars at no cost. Give your local Council a call. Good luck0
