IA's road to becoming a CAB Debt adviser.

spreadsheet sar, thats what I use, I've designed a proper sheet for the tour managers who have to deal with all kinds of income from doors to merch then they have to keep track of the PDs etc. I use that sheet as a general business ledger too then use sage for the proper accounts. But seriously just get into a routine of updating your spreadsheet daily (including milage) and you're laughing.:A

Just a quick one. If you claim your mileage at 40 pence per mile, you can't claim any other motoring related costs. The 40p per mile is intended to cover all other costs such as insurance, servicing etc!

Also in unrelated news.. today I fit into a pair of trousers I've not been able to get into since before Ashli was born..:D:D:D:T:T:T:T:T I'm so happy!

You may have done this already Sar, but have you contacted the Inland Revenue's local office of Small Business Accounts Team? When OH went self employed a few years back, he was unable to get his head around what was needed and what needed to be noted etc., and he gave them a call. They sent a chap round to the house to help. He was brilliant. He sat there amongst the MANY colourful booklets they issue and said "don't need that one; don't need this one; nah, you don't need that one either". It was a godsend.
He also went through which parts of your house could be included in your figures if you were doing some parts of the job from home. I can't remember exactly what they were, but it was a percentage reduction on utility bills (gas, water, telephone, lighting) for each room that was used.
It really would be time invested well if you gave them a call to see if they can come out to see you and certainly when your pulling together your year end figures. Our chap used to love coming to ours coz we live in a beautiful part of the country and he said it was a lovely morning out of the office and he got tea and toast when arrived. :TDecluttering junk and debt in 2016
