Hi, currently i have an unlocked iphone working on firmware version 1.1.3. However i want to update it to the current 1.1.4 version but i still want it to remain unlocked with all of its gadgets still working. Can anyone suggest what the best and cheapest way to do this is?
Thanks, TJ

What do you mean by gadgets? I presume your iphone is jailbroken already... do you mean all your webclips and installed applications?

if so check out Ziphone: http://www.ziphone.org/

You will be able to update to 1.1.4 using itunes and then use ziphone to activate/unlock/jailbreak your iphone.

If you have a mac then you might find pwnd to be a better option: http://www.iphone-dev.org/

All the standard features will remain working when you use ziphone, pretty straightforward to do, I have an ipod touch but follow iphone developments quite close too. I am still on 1.1.3 and it been working fine for me, no major changes in 1.1.4 so I won't be upgrading just yet

I updated my Iphone to 1.4 in Itunes and then used ziphone to unlock.

Total process takes 15 minutes and is really easy.

Installs the Installer application to enable 3rd party downloads.

You Tube, Maps and all other features are fully working.

There is another program called ILiberty that has just come available.

It does not matter where you bought the phone from....
I bought an iPhone off ebay with 1.1.3 on it and the guy who I bought it off paid £40 to unlock it..
I have since upgraded to 1.1.4 and agree with alnsv1000s that ILibery is better to use than others for windows users to unlock then, I only bought it to mess about and see if I like the iPhone..
I only have an O2 payg contract and already have a nokia n95..
I dont like the iPhone so I am going to sell it..
The IPhone is eye candy where as the n95 with Tomtom installed is better for me.
