help neede for sons nokia 6500 slide

hi my son has a memory card in his nokia 6500 it has worked fine until the other day now it just doesnt recognise the card at all.it keeps coming up not enough memory so he deleted some pics and music but still not recognising memory card and still saying not enough memory even though he now has hardley anything on the phone. has any one got any ideas why this might be

There is a widespread design fault with the 6500 slide. The memory card is held in place by the back cover, if this does not fit snugly then the memory card can lose its electrical contact with the phone. There are several threads about this on the Nokia discussion forum.

backup what you have on the memory card and try formatting the card if reinserting it doesnt work

thanks for replies. i will back up memory card. problem i have with reformatting is that i cant find anywhere saying memory card in any of the menus on phone its like it just isnt there

its a common problem, had many like this. take it to your nearest nokia repair centre or carphone warehouse they will fix it under warranty.

there is nothing you can do, i've tried.

Repairing through CPW takes far longer than just sending it off to the Freepost repair service, in my experience.
