ebay suspended my account when i listed an item. I do not know the reason.
I do not have any proof as i bought the item from someone else.
Any advice?
We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety of the eBay community.
You may appeal the suspension by replying to this email.
Why have we suspended your account?
From experience we know that certain items and actions are more associated with fraudulent activity on eBay than others. As a precaution, we suspend an account if it gives us cause for concern. We then ask for more information from the member before we reinstate the account.
Please understand we're not accusing you of fraudulent behaviour. Our top priority is to ensure that eBay remains a safe and reputable place to buy and sell, so we'd just like to confirm some of the information you've given us.
An account suspension in these circumstances is covered under the eBay User Agreement, which you can read by copying this link into a new browser window:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/user-agreement.html
During your suspension you are prohibited from using eBay in any way, including registering new accounts. Doing so may result in your permanent suspension. We have ended any open listings.
Please be advised that this suspension does not relieve you of your obligation to pay any fees that you may owe to eBay.
Here's what you can do now:
Please send us all of the following information so we can review your account:
1) Proof of name and address
2) Proof that the item/s you listed are in your possession
3) Confirmation of your up-to-date contact details
1) Proof of name and address
Please send us copies of BOTH of the following:
- government-issued photo identification (passport or driving licence)
- evidence of address (bank statement or utility bill).
You must send us PHOTOCOPIES, not originals as we can't return your documents. Clearly print your User ID on both documents so we can match them with your account quickly.
2) Proof that the item/s you listed are in your possession
Please send us ONE of the following for each of the items you've listed for sale on eBay:
- Receipt, bill of sale or agreement with your supplier
Please understand that we can't accept an invoice or order confirmation as proof that the item is in your possession.
3) Confirmation of your up-to-date contact details
Please print the following information on the cover sheet of your letter or fax:

At a guess -
to make sure you are not drop shipping?? Ie advertising something to sale then buying it elsewhere and shipping it directly to customer. This can be a problem if you advertise and sell something then realise it is no longer available from your drop shipper.
Otherwise have no idea. Not heard of that before.
Hope you get it sorted.0 -
any advice? Thanks a lot0

What did you try and sell?
Is there any suspicious activity on your account or your Paypal account, suggesting someone has hijacked it?A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -
when paypal limited my account and asked for proof of my last 5 items (invoices etc) i said i got them from a car boot sale, so there is no proof , they said ok.0

Seriously I have had similar issues but think that I confirmed everything online via Paypal. I definitely remember something asking for copy of bank statement and ID but I didn't bother. This was a long time ago though.0 -
My sister had similar when she listed a new dining room suite. They asked for copies of utility bill and passport.
Guessed it was because she had a new account and was selling off an expensive item. She wouldnt give copies of anything, so is still suspended.0 -

if you can give us some more info it'd be helpful.
Like the item you're trying to sell for example.
How long you've been registered or what your feedback is like (eg 25 and 100%)
I mean if it's concert tickets or a PS3 or something, then It understandable, and is a means of clamping down on fraud. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Did you not put a photo of the item on the listing? If you used a stock photo then someone probably reported you. Take a photo of the item with something in the background to show it is in your possession.0

I am a new ebayer(1 month) with 8 100% feedback. I want to sell a new Nokia N95 8G bought from others, because I dont want it. Of course the item is in my possession, but there is no proof.0 -
