Why does ebay ask the proof that the item is in my possession

I am a new ebayer(1 month) with 8 100% feedback. I want to sell a new Nokia N95 8G bought from others, because I dont want it. Of course the item is in my possession, but there is no proof.
In that case technically you're a new seller, selling a high value electrical item. That's the reason, because this type of item is commonly used/sold in scams on ebay.
As someone else has asked did you use your own photos etc.
If you can provide as much info as possible in your listing (why you're selling it - if it's an unwanted upgrade or not wanted after an upgrade etc, with lots of photos (watermarked if possible) ebay shouldn't usually have a problem.
Advise ebay you don't have proof of purchase as it was a contract phone from your mobile supplier in XXXX (Whenever you got the item originally)It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Actually, I can understand the frustration whenyou are genuinely selling something but Im pleased to see eBay doing something about the risk of scammers. eBay has such a bad reputation for scams and anything they can do to eliminate such people is welcome.0

Take a photo of the camera with something bearing your name and address, like a utility bill.I want to sell a new Nokia N95 8G bought from others

I used my own photos. But the description is partial copied from others. This is my first time to sell something via ebay.0 -

surely you got a receipt?

NOT like a utility bill!! Get a daily paper and write your username on paper next to it. If you do want to use a utility bill just use a close up of your passport instead!! Doh:cool:0 -

For sending to eBay, not for the listing photo !! Doh :rotfl:
That is exactly what I suggested in response to OPs post.
No need for the sarcastic comments = Doh :rotfl:"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
