Oh bogger – I was going to be very good and catch up from lunchtime and answer properly with quotes and everything and then found you’ve all moved over to the next week, so fresh start it is !
Evening everyone - and a lovely sunny one it is - no snow all day. Back from work and an easy day, nearly 3 hours work for 8 hours pay plus an hours travelling time to take back, can cope with that.
Mudbath – I got false stick on nails for my DD’s friends aged 9 and they had a fabulous funny time once they were on, trying to work out how they were going to the loo etc “will someone come and help me with my knickers” . I made their party bags as sleepover bags, with toothbrushes, flannels, deodorant, socks and knickers, torches, glowsticks, and loads of snacks for a midnight feast and left one on each mattress. I also did a bran tub (with Lush popcorn) for the prizes.
Luckily DD has not tried Hama beads – she’s had enough ordinary ones to clog the hoover
Looks like the tea’s cold pigpen. I also had a similar problem to you, altho it was just the sheets, dont ya just hate it. Still all clean on the bed front now as I had to strip it and remake so OH could go to bed this morning.
Michelle your list looks worse than ever now you’re at home!
Lil_me you seem busy as ever, glad you standing up to DP. I'm afraid at home sometimes I just keep my mouth shut to keep the peace. Why do I do that, because I never used to 12 year ago when we met.
embb sounds like your shopping trip was a success. Why is it when I go and actually have money to spend I cant find anything unyet can find loads when I'm skint
I missed the betting online thingy and I just dint get quidco at all. I registered but dont understand all this tracking stuff and if I put anything on the computer OH is likely to take it off. And as for face book I think I registered for that when you were all talking about it, but I dont have a clue how to use it, so I'm Billy Nomates :rotfl: .
Ok so as for this week I'm working all week again although I might try and sneak off early again on Friday so rather than try and do the lot I am going to aim for level 2 every day    . How will I cope?
 I am so angry with the nursing home my Nanny was in - my mum's just phoned to say that my Dad and Uncle decided I should have my nannys wedding and engagement rings as I was the only grandaughter. Mum has just described the engagement ring to me and its a different size to the wedding ring and has a sapphire in it while Nannys was all diamond! How can they possibly lose Nanny's and give us someone elses:mad:
Nicki good luck with the pocket money reward thing, my DD was keen initially but has taken a real down turn now. I think she did better with her chore list last summer when I wasnt paying her than when I am !
Oh well DS is home from his dad's.
My two back at school on Wednesday so I've a couple of days to get them sorted but until then better make a start on the dishes from lunchtime
Kaz x
PS Well done Sharon for signing up for the race. Two years ago I did The great East Anglia 10k run having done no exercise in 20 years! The feeling when you cross the finish line is fabulous - I actually burst into tears. Havent been able to do it since as I suffer with anaemia and palpatations but wish I could. Good luckMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Hi everyone
I will be in again for this week, we are back to normal here, kids back at school Monday. I will be back on 5 days, so back to evening routine, that's if you can have a routine with kids.
Didn't post much around end of week but did keep up fairly well with flying lists.
Had M&D and Grandma here all day. Roast beef lunch, B&B pudding. Dad was impressed with the HM bread at T, followed by HM muffins. 1 made 24 muffins & 24 fairy cakes yest. Just checked I froze 6, gave mum 12, they're nearly gone...
Plenty of snow, large flakes mid afternoon, but gone now.
Recorded F1 earlier, just going to watch now with a cuppa!0 -
That is really annoying kaz, hope you can manage to get it sorted somehow
I can understand why you're mad, i would be so angry.
For all you breadmakers out there sainsburys have there white breadflour down to 48p a bag, think they may be price matching a tesco offer. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Hi everyone! I'm in again (but back to work so will have to try harder than I did before to keep up!!)
For the first time in ages we had a Sunday where the house looked good enough to invite the in-laws for dinner without having to spend hours cleaning and tidying first AND I was able to make a coffee sponge and some raspberry/chocolate muffins to doubly impress the mil!
Sharon - I'm doing the race for life here with DD1 (aged 9). She is bound to beat me so will be given instructions to wait at the end for her unfit mother to come wheezing round the corner some 15 minutes later!!! I was hoping to get some training in - but I can't seem to get motivated! Maybe the shame at being SO slow will scare me into it for next year!
Just off to finish off the ironing pile (one less job for tomorrow!) PLUS I reckon one pile of ironing is worth a glass of wine and a muffin! Cheers all!0 -
Kaz that is awful, however one thing I will mention is when my Grandma was in a care home, not for long as she managed to stay in her home for many years until she was 93, she lost her rings and when we seen the ones he had in her jewellery box that were found, they were not the right ones. Maybe they were lost before she passed away? Regardless hope you manage to get the right ones back.
embb thanksmy partner will now dislike you :rotfl:
Solway, sorry, yes, the schools are off. Mondays aren't usually too bad in the hols but when the weather isn't great, they tend to be busier, sorry .....
Thanks for the thumbs up for me being a little braver, it's not like me as I usually just get on with it, can tell I've been a little annoyed with him this week. So far they've been taking empties out when they get another, it takes no extra time so why they can't usually do that I don't know. Their takeaway is running late :rotfl: anything up to an hour, I've been naughty and made him buy me something too, shouldn't after putting 2lb on this week but I'm bored of being good
Just updated several months of accounts, taking off the cost of pull ups for oneDS2 now gettng pants and pads provided, that's a nice saving, I had to previously allow £40 a month at least for his! He's got pull ups spare there for if we're away etc left over, he's objecting a little to the new pants but has been told 'you'll get used to it!'
Right they're sat watching all of the last Ashes to Ashes series so think I will play on MahjongOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Michelle - are you doing too much ??? hope you find the cat
Sharon - me and dd (8) are doing the race for life. it'll be our third time. it'll more emotional this year as the person we usually run for died just before christmas. we'll definitely run in his memory.
kazmeister - i've got some stick on nails so will add that to the list

Hello, I am Buffy and I have huge amounts of clutter.
I NEED Flylady. I have the book and when I first joined MSE I did try and Fly but I have really messed up big time recently.
I just cannot get organised and am a mess.
I can't really follow the weekly lists I live with my Mum and she organises that end of things. Its more keeping my areas in the house clutter free and dealing with post, work, study stuff and the various pets I have. My room is just a dumping ground and I can hardly get to my bed my desk is never used as a desk it just has various piles on it. Work is going the same way - which is scary.
I have two weeks off work. I am going in this week to catch up and more or less have a plan, but can I join the thread and post daily updates? on my progress ( there will be progress!!!)

mmmmm had a lovely beef roast dinner which dh cooked and he's cleaned the kitchen to within an inch of it's life. he's now doing the ironing. not sure i actually want this plaster cast off :rotfl: . i've done 4 washing loads, hung everything and just have to pair 60 million pairs of socks and then i'm done for today. i can't believe how tidy the house is considering it's the end of the holidays.
warning - if you have one of these fibre casts don't use superglue. i was mending something and a drop of the glue went on the cast - next thing i know there's loads of white smoke...must be some reaction to a chemical and the cast. i didn't know what to do so settled for covering my arm in a damp towel. i'm laughing now but at the time i had visions of my arm falling off :rotfl: xx0 -
hiya buffy
