Sign up with both and with 18185, get your self an ORCHID dialler and off you go. It'll take care of everything (all you calls routing) without you needing to dial any prefix anymore. SIMPLE. :j

...P.S. and just for INFO + to save you money … wasting it - on diallers

:::LOTS OF 'newer' DECT PHONES offer this feature as Standard ... you don’t even have to buy any DIALLER ..... if YOU use just '1' alternative provider ... for 'all your calls'

With my BT ON Air ... the feature is called 'PREFIX' ( 'this' set of digits e.g. 1899, is automatically dialled before any number)

Down the road ... all DSL VOIP Phone ... router boxes will have/ and some already have .. 'this kind of minor feature' included as well ... in any case ...

    Translated … into plain Engl. / don't buy a NEW ...

    really OLD-low-tech black box ...

(sorry ORCHID fans’s …..You just came late to the game …. The ’box’ is really old and obsolete stuff)

SIEMENS AVM SAGEM ......and some Israeli DSL/ROUTER/ FIREWALL boxes are on the mass-market for 12-18 months..and are @ really, really low price levels already ( =Internet Providers pass them on for free !)

YOUR UK Internet provider ... will send you one for free ... very soon ... ( like in Germany and France for some years –NOW…)

..BUT they first have to shift the ‘old stuff’ , like ‘no feature’-DSL modems (free) , sell routers without Wireless LAN … without Phone Board features .. that would let you plug ‘any old phone’ into the system.
     Xmas… here we come … :-)) )

Sounds like you have pop-ups blocked and will need to "allow" pop-ups for that particular website.

I'm an "Orchid fan" as you put it.

I know some phones have the feature 'prefix' but anyone using this would be able to route their calls to one carrier all the time regardless of the time of day and/or type of call. This can be annoying because it is known that both Call18866/1899 over the weekend can become oversubscribed and you get a busy tone most of the time.

In contrast, a Orchid dialler is capable of routing to many different carriers, dependant on the time of day and type of call and therefore many people use a CPS carrier (like Tele2, TalkTalk & OneTel) to route calls via them at the weekend (or even the evening if they were lucky to sign up to the free evening & weekend calls promotion).

Also, some MSE members have the dialler route their mobiles and/or 084x/087x numbers via yet another alternate carrier which generally require them to dial an 0844 before then dialling their required mobile/084x/087x number all of which the dialler can be setup to do for them automatically.

At the moment, 18185 is cheapest to Australia out of 1899, 18866 and 18185 (only 1p/minute after 4p connection).

N.B. According to the MSE CallChecker though, a number of the 'dial-through' providers offer the same 1p/minute rate.

VOIPCHEAP Australia 0.5p per min, no conn charge

    Or VOIPBUSTER free

I'm not sure with Mozilla but try just clicking on the link (below) which hopefully will open full screen and therefore bypass your pop-up blocker.

    Yes, you do.

If you use an Orchid Dialler then this could be done for you automatically so once setup you would still only have to dial your local number.

1899 is still the joint cheapest for weekday 0870 calls (7p/min). Or much cheaper if you can find the geographic equivalent at say no to 0870.

Beware that if you all 0870 off peak, your line provider can be much cheaper than 1899. E.g. NTL is 4.3p/min eves and 2.75p/min at weekends. 1899 is the the 7p/min flat rate.

There is a similar patern with 0845 calls too
