Well then they could turn it on to have a look at it and turn it off when they had finished.

Try working in a supermarket listening to the rubbish they loop on the 'radio' everyday.

That won't get any impulse sales.

I worked in retail for 13 years, music never bothered me.
  • You're just creating more work for the staff doing that. My mother works in the entertainment section in Tesco, and she wouldn't have been best pleased with some idiot switching off the TV.

And the music can be annoying at times (you try listening to every just about Christmas song ever made three times a day, five days a week), but it's better than silence imho.

I agree that the TVs need to be on to demonstrate the quality of the product, but I doubt that a great deal of work is created by someone turning it off. Surely the only "work" required is pressing a switch as they're walking past?

    On a note about currys

Went to currys to have a look at laptops, as soon as i was through the door i was pounced on. After 5 mins of sales assistant trying to sell me stuff i firmly told her, thanks for her help but when i do decide I want to buy something from here i would go get her when i was ready. I ended up walking out cos she was just following me around. All i wanted to do was to see what they had to offer fgs

Thats what i hate about currys and being pounced on,

just had a thought- lets flash mob all the electric shops tomorrow, and turn off their tv's!

this didnt quite work out - major snow bll fight took most of my time, and left me rather soaked and bruised (ard snow is v hard,, when compacted!).
