It's an interesting trip report, I enjoyed it.
However, it's definitely best kept to confines of Skytrax, Airliners.net etc, as it's also a little bit tasteless. I see no problem with people trying to get J/F class seats / holidays cheaper and utilising the forum for that, but actually just having a report on here for an experience that very few will ever have, sat amongst queries for people whom saving £20 on a holiday WILL make a big difference, well, it just doesn't sit right.
 Just my opinion though.0

Spending £3.5K for an airline ticket is not MSE.
I may be wrong, but I get the impression that it's not the OPs own money they're spending. The MSE Dictionary The MSE Dictionary

THAI lagging behind as usual. Tops for me are the Emirates Private Suites.0

I feel so sorry for the poor peasants who have to share their 'plane rides with others, and then spend a few extra pennies to feel special. (First class passenger, indeed. It is the seat, not the person, who is first class.)
No, flying as cheaply as possible so that you can spend your money in your destination country makes a great deal of sense. If you are determined to travel in style, then use a private jet. Anything in between is simply vulgar.0

            Well I enjoyed reading it.
If £3.5 K is a bargain, great - its all relative to what is being bought.
Was that a rtn price skyrider007 or ew ?0

I was surprised to see a first class trip report on here too but thinking about it.......if we all only posted what everyone could afford then it'd be a very small forum here. Some can only afford £1 Ryanair flights, some think £2000 for a family of 4 is a deal, lots of thank you's on Murph's American airlines thread but lots of people couldn't afford America so where does it end ?
Thai IS a bargain compared to BA in terms of money-and certainly wipe the floor with consistent service-BA's cabin service long haul ranges from good to really poor....and let's not even mention the mess which is terminal 5 right now -I'd pay EXTRA to avoid that !!
So thank you to the OP for posting about a different kind of bargain I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
 MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0

How on earth did you get that impression?
And if you did then it again is not MSE.

Altering travel dates to avoid price hikes due to seasons.
Using priceline\hotwire to get Hotel bargains
Using 'discount' deals from Credit cards to get a cheaper fare.
 Etc
The OP had done this flight over a year ago and was clearly showing off
 BTW
No I am not jealous as I will be travelling first class with Virgin next year to Japan.
It will cost me about £400 in taxes and fees as I have been using several MSE ways to get FF miles.0

How on earth did you get that impression?
It was an assumption based on age as their user ID on the trip report says, "Ben 10"
But seriously folks, it was simply an impression I got when I was reading the trip report and when I clicked on the users profile, their age, occupation and location did little to make me think otherwise.

Of course Virgin don't have a First Class section.
Tip: Eat in the lounge, the food is infinitely better than on the plane.
Maybe they were having a bad day, but over cooked salmon and supermarket style lamb shank wasn't my idea of Upper Class.
The food in the lounge was more than adequate, so I wasn't too hungry anyway.0
