I really wouldnt worry too much, I had friends that didnt even apply until beginning of september and although they didnt get their loan at the same time as everyone else it was there within a few weeks

NP, - you'll get the loan for sure (as long as youre eligible etc, i dont obv know your circumstances), I didnt hear of anyone that had real problems receiving it in the first term. All student finance direct say is that if you dont get your loan forms in before a certain date, they can't GUARANTEE that you'll get it on time. Theres every chance you might though.
Best of luck0 -
im goin into LEA today. Goin to set record str8. Im goin to ask to see what info they have and why i need to provide it twice. itll get interesting.0

if it is very late and you need cash your lea may provide an interim payment. this happened to me a couple of years ago.
Failing that the uni will have an emergency fund for people in such a situation, and will give you an interest free loan and fee waiver until it is sorted out.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
i went into my LEA today and the guy there was surprisingly helpful. He looked over my file and said he could not work out why i had recieved two appliations (PFF1's). He said that my application would be looked at and assesed soon. He said that it was probabaly the fact i did it on the net. Its good to know about that interim payment and free loan from the uni. Thanks for all your help.0

My two children will both be at uni this September, one continuing into year 2 and one just starting, I took the forms along with the P60's etc into the LEA office on the last day before the deadline. My husband (who is my children's stepfather) has had a letter with a login code etc but no-one else has had anything yet. I called to ask why they were writing to my husband when they are my children and they said that I would be getting a letter too, but almost three weeks later and nothing has arrived so in addition to being slow are they are also sexist ? The form was filled in with my details first so I expected them to write to me, the ultimate is they won't tell me if I have to pay fees as it isn't any of my business apparantly...funny the money comes out of my bank account.

surely they should be writing to your children and not you? the loans are in their names after all!?Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0
