how old is the laptop? if still under warranty you could (but shouldn't) be able
to put back the old ram and return the unit..

Its only a few months old so still under warranty. I will try to sort it because I really would like more RAM. But good to know its possibly an option ;)

Update - I bought an static wrist strap and had another look. I was a bit more confident with the strap on and managed to slide the RAM further into its slot as everyone suggested. So it works and I am SO happy with my faster laptop :j
BIG BIG Thanks to everyone that helped :T :T:T:T:T:T

As Homer Simpson would say..."WOOOOOHOOO!!!!" Well done.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

was that not mentioned repeatedly?! :)

It can be a bit scary providing enough force to ram home the ram, glad you got it sorted and i hope lappy now much quicker.
