I don't get this 'matched' bet stuff, I didn't even notice if my bets were 'matched', but I've got the money back so I'm not complaining, gonna withdraw the funds now and close the account while I'm ahead!:T

That's just Betfair's terminology. They have to be exact with the terms of their offers, I guess.

But if your bet was confirmed, it means it was 'matched' with another punter (Betfair don't play with their own money, it's all person-against-person) who wanted to bet against that same horse. Hopefully, he was wrong and you were right on this occasion!

Never bet with money you can't afford to lose:rolleyes:

That was the whole point! You wasnt supposed to lose it! :money: .

The first post just confused me a bit never done a bet in my life!!

Money back in my account now, just took awhile. However it wont let me take it as it says i havent verified my age! Strange how they let me PUT the bet on..even though i wasnt verified!

Just gotta work at getting the money back! I couldnt use a credit card to verify my age as i have NEVER had one and are all ways thrifty with everything i spend!

Just felt like letting my hair down :rotfl: .

It wasnt a gamble!! It was a FREE BET! You bet £25 you get £25 BACK.

#There is NO chance it will lead to become a gambler. It was a one off. The point was the OP caused some confusion.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, Martin said to put £25 in, bet it all, then they'll give you back your £25. I read the ts and cs, and they said the same.

I've bet the £25, I won £26 (put £2.50 bets on lol, now I wish I'd bunged it all on the winner, obviously), and I've just logged in and have £56 in my account.

My only bugbear is the fact that they're taking their own sweet time to varify my age...I emailed them twice yesterday (once in the morning, once at about 11pm), now I've used their secure server to upload my driving licence. Martin did say this would only happen if you used Electron/Solo (as under 18s can have these cards), and I used a Visa Debit, (my parents both had the same thing, but have credit cards). It's a pain, but I'll live (as long as it happens eventually lol).
