Bad Advice Martin Betfair free £25 bet
Comments

Yeah, that's what I did - exactly what Martin said to do - bet £25 on the National and I'm expecting to get that £25 back in the account within 24hours after the race. But the person that posted the message about the bad advice has confused me....do I get the £25 back or not??
Yes
The idiot who posted the thread didn't actually put the bet on :rotfl:0 -

Well I took the the advice from Martin as 'read' but I should have read the T&Cs. You have to match the bet with at least the same amount or more. So, essentially it's not as per what Martin said, bet £25 and get it back the next day. This is the second time I've fallen for something like this, did the same last year on PaddyPower, I didn't get my free bet due to some rule/condition in the T&Cs, but I trusted Martin on what he said. That was pretty stupid. Now, I've loaded up my £25, luckily I've not placed my bet, but I can't work out how to get my money transfered back onto my card. The transfer fund but is greyed out, and of course, no contact numbers to speak of.
Martin, I thought you checked out the T&Cs as you're the expert, obviously not! BAD ADVICE!
If you got duped on PP last year then wouldnt you of been more dubious and read T&C's this time aroundplenty of people have suceeded with this offer. Take a breath and slow down, you can get your deposited £25 back. I didnt have a clue what I was doing and managed to get the whole offer set up and set up a new quidco account which has been tracked too all using Martins instructions so they cant be wrong!
To get your money out go to 'my account' then down the left hand side of screen go to 'withdraw funds from betfair' enter the withdrawal amount and then enter password. You should then get a message to say money takes 3-5 days to clear.
There is also a contact number on the site under 'about us' then 'contact us'

Your problem was not understanding that Betfair is a betting exchange. You don't 'bet £25', as there is no bookie to bet with, you have to 'match' your money (eg £25 on Horse A) with someone else who wants to bet £25 against Horse A.
That's what 'match the bet' means. So, you'd done the hard bit, opening the account and depositing the money, all you had to do was place your £25 on Horse A to comply with the terms, just like Martin said.
But you didn't. Tuff.0 -
Well, you do bet the £25 just like at a bookie, but the money is matched up with another punter who is laying the bet.Happy chappy0

and exactly as Martin said the £25 went into my account in the early hours of this morning, less than 24 hours after the race finished0

Same here, both my wife and I received our £25 back overnight.0

Excellent, just checked my betfair account and my £25 is back in there also, along with my winnings! Not to be too harsh on the person who posted the original thread, but mate, you seriously confused me with your message! I didn't read the T&Cs either as Martin's advice was so clear and straightforward that I assumed he would have highlighted if there was a catch people should be aware of (as he normally highlights any potential risks). Original poster left me thinking I had been duped out of £25, so mate, can you be certain about the information you're posting next time?! :money:0

Got my £25 back this morning too, was worried a bit though because one of my bets wasnt a matched bet, but it all came good in the end.0
