Hi
Any ideas if I will be allowed to take glass jars of baby food on the plane as hand luggage?
TIA

I very much doubt you'd be allowed to take glass, but you could decant them into some clear plastic storage boxes?0

I'm fairly sure it's OK but you may be asked to taste the contents. The man without a signature.0

My Daughter was allowed to take one jar, the rest were taken from her.0

They are the Heinz pre packed ones, not home made.
Surely if they are sealed and my toddler is with me, they wouldnt take it off us would they?
Any ideas if I can buy Heinz/Hipp Jars in Morroco?:j BABY A :j0 -
if they are prepacked, you could still be asked to taste them...
you are allowed to take onto the plane, as much as you need for the plane journey... so pack the rest in your hold luggage!0 -
If they are for use in morroco then pack them in your checked in luggage. Take one for the flight, the 100ml rule will apply, container no larger than 100ml.0

I went to Egypt last month with friends who had a 10 month old. Pack the majority of the food in your hold luggage. They had 3 bottles made up already and two jars of food in their hand luggage, the jars were glass. When we went through security my friend had to open both jars and eat a mouthful of the food in front of the security officers and take a mouthful from each of the bottles too. The bottles were all definitely much bigger than 100 ml and there were no problems with these. Can't remember how big the jars were, but 100ml is very small so I'm sure they were bigger too! This was in Gatwick - HTH!0

Opening the jars to taste wont allow the food to last for more than a couple of days, and im not keen on putting glass jars in the main luggage incase they break.
Oh well, Im going to have to hope that one of the shops once we have passed check in have the flavours I require!:j BABY A :j0 -
This may well be correct, baby food may be exempt from the 100ml rule (it is indeed a tiny amount) as long as the quantity is reasonable for the flight and any surpluss carried in your checked in luggage.I went to Egypt last month with friends who had a 10 month old.
