Virgin Raising their Standard Tariff

I am two thirds of the way through the 6 month SIM only deal via CPW (I've had the confirmation text from them saying the cashback is OK) and Virgin have just emailed me to say that their standard tariff (which kicks in when all the included minutes have been used up) is going up on May 12th.

Does this give me the right to cancel my contract from that date (or earlier??) as 40p per minute & 12 per text is extortionate to other networks (their minimum call charge will double to 10p in June as well).

I actually want to change to one of their Liberty SIMs but do not wish to be tied in to their new charges.
