Thanks guys again for the feedbacks.

I have already filed a claim which the defendant want to contest in local court to defend part of claim as he offered now £300.
I am going to submit the allocation questionnaire tomorrow, see when do I get the date.

Good luck On the out come, but im not sure you need the luck as surely the law is on your side.

We are in the process of buying, Ill look out for the clause on doors.

Hope it all goes well. best of luck.

how many doors were there ?

what sort of doors were they ?

if he is offering the price of "cheap imitation georgian pananelled £12 doors" to replace "hardwood-stained-glass-windowed dooors" then he's on a hiding to nothing.

What evidence do you have as to what sort of doors were there before they moved - do you have piccies in the EAs details to prove their condition - as the court will not want to agree to "betterment" of doors.

Dont forget to include the cost of fitting - that will mount up ..........

    surprise surprise.
Today I have got cheque this morning for £681.71 (which I was claiming from the seller including bank charges etc)

I am still waiting for the court date and now I got this letter. I am sure the seller realised that he can not win so instead getting the CCJ on his record he sent me the cheque instead.

What shall I do now? just deposit the cheque? or pretend that I have not received it (it was normal 1st class post)? or ask for say £800 for out of court settlement ;)

Do I need to inform the court or what?

    Regards

Great stuff. I'd have a chat with your solicitor and see what s/he recommends - sounds like you have the vendor on the run - I'd consider going for more costs/stress etc, but probably never get around to it!

tbh i think if u pretended u didnt get it to try for more thats just greed! u asked for the money within a time period and they gave you it. What more do you expect from them? However I do think it was bloody stupid to take the doors with them!
