Is it reasonable to expect EA's to contact all that have requested details

And to give the seller a regular update? I hear many EA's don't even give feedback on actual viewings so feel this expectation may be going too far.

I can't see why an agent wouldn't be doing it as a matter of course. You sell houses by finding viewers for them.0

You used the words reasonable and EA in the same sentence.

Your agent should be able to give you an update on all viewings, its usually best to wait a day or two for the feedback, that way the feedback is more genuine.
Regular updates shouldn't be an issue either.0 -
I've just sold a house (exchange next week) and I have to say the EA I used was pretty good. The negotiator phoned me regularly and sent me regular 'marketing activity' reports listing viewings, enquiries via the office and the net etc Also if I hadn't heard from them for a while, I would phone the negotiator and she was only too happy to talk to me about what was going on. At the end of the day, presuming they find you a buyer, you're going to be paying them a lot of money so I' insist on good service and regular contact or go elsewhere. Good luck x0

If I'm reading the question right, you want the EA to call everybody who has even requested details, not just people who have viewed. In which case, I think it would be unreasonable. Firstly, the EA would never be off the phone if you consider how many sets of details they must provide to people.
Also, I'd find it quite rude if someone was going to phone me every time I looked at property details as if I weren't able to make up my own mind. It's the job of you to get the house presentable and your EA to get those details making your house stand out for potential viewing.
There's not much an EA could say that they can't say in their details and if they did convince people to view who had already dismissed your house because of house size, room size, location, whatever, then I think you would actually end up with a lot of no-shows.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thank you doozergirl. Now I have thought it throgh, from the point of veiw of a buyer, I would feel very hacked off if every time I asked for a set of details I found the agent hounding me for feedback. I guess the feedback from the viewings is the important part of their service.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. ......I'd kinda figured there was some relevance factor applied to the OPs question. If I was selling a 3-bed house I'd expect my agent to contact every enquiry about 2-3 bed houses in that area in the last few months unless they knew the buyers were out of the market.
Obviously if an enquiry was made about a detached house then contacting them about a studio flat would be unreasonable

Well that is their job, of course!
I think the OP meant individually contacting everyone who had requested her details.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

.....aha. To be honest though, in a slow market I don't think that's too unreasonable. As an agent I'd do that and disguise it as "Our vendor has asked us to get feedback about why people are choosing not to view........" and let the conversation lead from there. You can't insult a potential viewer by saying "Do you want to view the house?" straight off though. As you say, they've made their decision. An excuse to call like feedback or a price reduction would be justified though, me thinks.0 -
Price reductions are indeed a good excuse to contact people who have previously requested details. And viewed.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
