new French mobile operator with 12 month credit

Le Clerc (he of the supermarkets) have started a mobile service, piggy backing on SFR so should have decent coverage. Their credit lasts 12 months - most french credit lasts 2 weeks to a month. The SIM plus 1 hour of calls in the start up pack costs 15€. Calls are 39c per min, charged by the second, to all french lines (fixed and X network) and 9c a text. They also sell some basic mobiles, which are all unlocked. Only catch is you have to sign up for 1.50€ a month, so not sure if you can do this without a french bank account (?) - you may be able to link it to a UK credit card. Their website is clear and well designed and CS appears excellent and have answered my bad french queries within 24 hours by email. If you are spending a bit of time in France, this appears the best deal. HTH someone. I have got my code RIO (lol that's french for PAC) from Orange and can't wait to leave their poxy Mobicarte!
