Best Euro Rate?

So far the best I can find is 1.23 to the pound at the Post Office. A local chain of a national travel agent offered me 1.17 yesterday. No thanks! I also found online 1.25 if you can pick up from a particular branch of a specialist firm in the West End of London but that is no good for those of us in the Midlands.
I have tried the Money Maximiser tool but just wanted to pick the brains of all the roving MSErs who might have spotted a better deal.
Thanks in advance.

If you have a cheque shop in your area it's worth a try.
Or Marks and Spencer - though have heard they are no longer that much different.
Or 1.27 in a cash machine when you get there - before charges0 -
1.2364 at www.travelex.co.uk if you collect from airport0

Not true, Currency Express is slightly better with free delivery.

You can buy via Travelex online and then claim up to £50 cashback per person under their best price guarantee. Its easy

Hi Budgetflyer,
Going to go with your free guide. Is it best to wait until Monday now, so customer services are in and can check the rate on the day on Thomas Global exchange? They are 0.2 higher than Travelex!

DAK if the rate you see online at the post office is the same as you would get on the high street?
I always used to use Travelex online and pick it up at the airport but last month they closed this facility at both Luton and Stansted.
I find this very strange as both these airports are the main ones for the low cost airlines.
I don`t know whether they still maintain a presence at these airports for normal transactions but I noticed that they always had a rip-off rate compared to the online ordering.0 -
Hi Tazz233,
It shouldnt really matter. As long as you email them right away after confirmation of the transaction.
Take a screenshot of their front page, rates are clearly shown
I suppose Monday. you could follow it up with a phonecall.
However, the way things are going you may lose any savings as the £ seems to be falling like a lead ballon these days. Your call Tazz
Remember, there is a £50 lifetime limit on cashback per person, so if its more than £50 difference, its worth getting your companion/partner etc to do a seperate transaction

Just phoned travelex and they confirmed that their office`s at Luotn and Stansted are now closed completely.
DAK about the post office rate being the same on the high street as online please.0 -
Thanks Budgetflyer. Don't think it will reach the £50 limit, as I'm buying under £1000, but I'll double check before I do it. Will have a browse through your other articles.
