How do I get the best deal?

Have 1 month left on an O2 phone deal from E2Save. Have had to nag for this month's cahsback. I was intending to go for another one of their cashback deals but to be honest they are starting to look like more hassle than it is worth at the moment (have had 3 years worth before and they have been great up until this claim). So here's the big questions: How do I get the best deal? Do I ask e2save upgrades or try O2 retention (and if so what's the number for them?!)?

I want:
1. a new handset - my LG chocolate is poo. Doesn't need to be fancy just something that works all the time whether it is receiving texts or making calls!
2. not many mins and texts I have 200 of each at the mo and that suits me fine.

if you want to call o2 direct call 202 form your handset and in the options go for the option that you want to disconnect, you may get a better deal by saying that you are thinking of leaving than if you just say you want to upgrade

Call o2 directly and tell them you are calling to cancel your contract... they wont like this and will ramble on with lots of different packages get them to put the price of the package you want down to the absolute minimum...

When I called the 'Upgrades' number they were useless at getting me a good deal but one phone call to O2 retentions got me the following:

£100 credit (instead of new phone)
    100 Minutes
    100 texts*
    for £5 per month

....this will end that I am £40 in credit as long as I don't go over my allowance.

However the 100 texts did not get processed onto my account and I was charged for sending 5 messages so I called retentions again and they apologised and have given me 200 free texts per month now ! also I called O2 treats which you will be able to do over all I am getting the above plus:

    100 extra messages (200 total)
30 additional off-peak minutes (for the next 3 months then I get to change this allowance)
20 additional peak minutes (for the next 3 months then I get to change this allowance)

I don't think I've seen a better deal so I am reccomending that everyone calls retentions

I don't know the number for people who bought their phone from a third party but you should try the o2 onine number anyway 0870 600 300 9

    Good Luck !

isnt O2 @ e2save totally different to old regualr O2?

I had a cashback contract (11 months free on offpeak 1000mins) from e2save and asked to cancel and wrote to them giving my 30 days notice, week before disconnection I got a phone call offering me 750 offpeak mins totally free, with no need to make any claims, they just credited my account for 12 months line rental, no new handset but I was pleasantly surprised!
