    As has been said, the money's yours. you earned it presumably, and the government would like to take as much as can off you. don't let them.

    What I would say under the heading 'is it worth it', is scrabbling around different banks etc for the sake of 0.2%. The difference between 6.15% and say 6.35% is only £6 interest pa.. Often the convenience of a partcular type of account [branch based, internet based etc] far outweighs £6 in the long run.
