Or -19.68% since Aug 07. I like that fact better. ;)

This stat, (not sure if it's right, I cant be !!!!!d to check), made me look up what I seem to remember as the very first poll we had in our old sub-board about house prices. (Ah... the good ol days... ;) )

I'll stick my hand up and say I opted for the 20-30% option which now looks as if it's going to be at the optimistic end of the scale (ie wrong), but possibly not by much? If I could change my mind I'd now be voting for the 30-40% option.

Admittedly there's not too many of the names still around (thankfully in some cases) but an interesting snapshot of opinion only 10 months ago though.

    How things have changed eh??

    :D

    I chose between 0 and 10%

I actually think it could range from "they will level out for the next few years" to about 15%. this was why I chose the middle of the three options this falls into.

Regardless, each area will be affected differently and therefore this is my thoughts for the country as a whole.

I wonder if by 'country' ISTL meant Scotland...?

    Useful get out clause. ;)

I voted for them to level out because that is pretty much what has happened across the country. However last weeks excellent news from the Halifax clearly points out that we are on the precipice of some major price increases over the next month or so. Now now if you can or forever rent. Or forever at mummies.

You bears have been saying that since 2002 when a certain Johathan Davies sold to rent and set up HPC to initiate a housing and economic collapse.

I do not know how anyone can possibly be bullish for house prices from here. There is no way house prices can go up more from here in real terms in the short term.

Maybe when people buy houses with a 25 year mortgage they are thinking about the long term?

Looked at land reg and house prices in north west seem to be over 50% more than they were in 2002.

I really wonder how much you're just on a wind up when you post things like this, because you can't in all seriousness believe that.
